An IMPORTANT update regarding WSVN 7.

WSVN has started the groundbreaking on their new building in Miramar. Its scheduled to open in 2027 and my friend Craig Stevens has shared photos on LinkedIn on its ceremony including... its new future set once it moves in.

That new set... wow. 🔥🔥🔥 The Newsplex is going to impress once again.

Never thought I'd appreciate it, but thank you Sunbeam for remaining stubborn to the open newsroom Newsplex when every news set these days is bereft of life but has plenty of screens.

Love the 18 logo in Channel 7 colors. Even more rare to see the 7 logo placed beside the FOX logo.

The new newsplex renderings are eeh. Doesn't seem as grand as the original 90s plex. Hopefully he lighting is smoother in this one.

Bradley Benoit is WCJB's new Chief Meteorologist as Mike Potter exited today after a 33-year run, the last year or so as their chief.

Another one said goodbye yesterday too in favor of retirement... WEAU's Judy Clark after 35 years there. This Facebook post is what it will do as the station didn't post it anywhere other than here:

EDIT: Adding another one... WKYT's Jim Caldwell. 12 years at YMT, 12 years at KYT and his 24 year run is over on TV.

Well KTUL has a meteorologist that will be handling the weekday evenings and that is Kirsten Lang (formerly at KJRH years ago). She returned to Tulsa TV this evening at 5pm, so it will be her and Joie handling weather for Tulsa while OKC’s team will continue to help when either of them need off and OKC will still handle weekend shows (which is still stupid). One thing to note she wasn’t hired as the Chief Meteorologist that position is still being considered so there might be a chance she will end up as KTUL’s chief and would be the second female to be named the Chief at KTUL. I added her first full wx hit from the 5pm show.

Retirement news coming in at the last minute...

KSNV's Jim Snyder is hanging it up after 38 years in journalism, the majority of that time at KSNV. Tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. is Jim's last newscast, and he gets to anchor it with another longtimer, his best friend Dana Wagner.

Steve Weagle's final broadcast after 27 years at WPTV. He said he planned to retire four years ago... glad he stuck around for more time. But now... he's done. At least he gets to retire before Christmas.

Longtime legendary WCBS-TV reporter Jennifer McLogan, long recognized for covering the Long Island beat, is stepping back from daily duties at WCBS-TV after 36 years, but is not retiring entirely from the station, staying part-time for 2-3 days a week.

Oh, and the McLogan staple will continue... as her daughter Elle is following in her footsteps, covering the Queens beat, and has been there since 2017. She put together the tribute for her own Mama.

Jennifer Correa recently came back to WPTV after a few months away to focus on her mental health.

Now, after 10 years on TV and 8 in South Florida (both Miami and WPB), this week is her last at WPTV and in the industry as a whole.

That's another met WPTV is now going to have to find for.

The farewells for WFORs Eliott Rodriguez have started. He ends his long Miami career on Friday.

Our veterans are going! Was this Elloitt's choice or CBS cuts?

I love that CBS News Miami showed clips of his time at Local 10, and didn't just whitewash it by saying he used to work at "another local tv station"
