Also at WCNC in Charlotte anchor Bill McGinty signed off and announced his retirement after 32 years in the news business. Sounds like a sudden move not previously announced, but it seemed it may have been his choice and not a Tegna decision. He was at WCNC for 10 years as an afternoon and fill in anchor and consumer/ investigative reporter, known for his Get McGinty reports. Sad to see good, strong seasoned talent depart WCNC.

WVUE morning meteorologist Shelby Latino announced on air this morning that she is stepping away temporarily to focus on raising her family. She had triplets not long before Hurricane Ida struck the area. If I heard her correctly, she said she will come in from time to time to do freelance work.

Changes are coming for two anchors in San Antonio and in Phoenix.

KENS 5 Eyewitness News anchor Deborah Knapp is reducing her schedule and stepping away from the 10pm newscast. She'll continue to anchor the 5pm newscast. No word on who will succeed Deborah at 10pm or whether her co-anchor Aaron Wright will anchor solo at 10pm.

And longtime ABC15 (KNXV) main anchor Steve Irvin will retire in '22 citing a recent health issue.

I'd say Sharon Ko would take her spot. I notice she left the noon newscast but she also does 6pm as well.
