  1. My cousin was given an opportunity to be a MMJ for WWMT but he knew better than to go to a Sinclair station. He had 4 different Sinclair stations reach out to him. He ended up at a Hearst station and he is loving every moment of it. Very sad that he could have worked near his hometown and family, but politics and greed kept him from it.

  2. Not all unfortunately. Some, due to legacy and competition, are highly rated. Yet they still have to follow the mandate including yesterday's spin of the very criticized WSJ article. It is read verbatim. Too many in those markets don't realize the snide comments during news reports, must run stories like this are system wise because they don't get out of their markets. Sinclair explains why FCC is concerned with joint agreements as well as not increasing the cap. Too many DMAs have a lack of diverse ownership.

  3. Or maybe they'll just leave the branding alone on this one. Also, WFXT rebranding as Boston 25 doesn't look so stupid now, does it?

  4. I just thought the panel above the larger screen looked strange, small compared to KCAL. We can say that KYW's is, in a way, uniqueness, as it does not follow the same KCAL standard.

  5. And what good is that doing either of them? I have learned that holding a grudge is not good for your well being. I have heard him in many interviews and yes he's done and not coming back. IMO they need to seek professional help, and yes it could have been handled differently. But she's the queen bee, so it seems like what she wants she gets. I'm not quit familiar with the Bruce Wolfe car keying incident, could someone better explain that to me? Oh and don't forget he singed an NDA

  6. Shading her and ABC 7 management, he needs to move on. Even if he can't or won't forgive her he needs to make peace with what happened. What he needs is therapy, licensed, able to prescribe therapy. His firing is akin to a bad breakup

  7. Given the current situation regarding Paramount, I doubt we will see new sets group-wide ...unless it's already in the pipeline.

  8. CBS doesn't care about uniqueness. They prefer complete brand alignment.

  9. CCO's set has aged remarkably well for being almost 15 years old. I'd argue that they still have one of the best sets in the market. Renovations were made a couple of years ago for the launch of "The 4", and more updates were made to update the set to scrub the old logos from the glass and weather center. That said, how did CBS allow WCCO to have such a unique set in the first place? Just years of not having a real set from using the window onto the Nicollet Mall Plaza?

  10. Yep I called it! The wooden studs in the wall totally gave it away.

  11. According to the photos and the video on the CBS News Colorado website, they went full KCAL with the set. https://www.cbsnews.com/colorado/news/cbs-colorado-news-set-debut-studio/

  12. He's pretty sad, IMO. You are too, if you are commenting on her looks.

  13. The picture of the desk that I saw this evening, below gives off CBS EVENING NEWS Vibes, it looks very nice, but seems small..

  14. He’s been shading twice more than usual. He’s standing on major business when it comes to not forgiving her.

  15. Mark Giangreco is back to shading Cheryl Burton on twitter, even though I agree with the shade. Burton turns me off with the fake laugh, over the top jokes and ugly outfits. Lets also not forget about her ego which is huge. I just wish they would replace her with Karen Jordan, who deserves the promotion.

  16. https://www.facebook.com/6abcAdamJoseph/ So Adam Joseph posted pictures of him taking his family to pride on his Facebook and Twitter pages and the comments are mostly good and nice(which I agree). But the not so nice comments are calling him a "groomer" and a "bad parent." I'm glad he is sticking up for himself, his family and LGBTQ community as he has an awesome family by his side and I enjoy his family posts. He has gotten a little political though but, I don't care as I enjoy him calling out the homophobes and the hypocrites. I can see why he is extremely popular in Philly and would be a huge loss if he did leave.

  17. The number was a compromise between Congress and the White House back in 2003. In June of that year, the FCC relaxed ownership rules to allow a 45% audience cap. Congress didn't like it and wanted to pass a measure to roll back the FCC's decision. President Bush said he would veto it. So the White House and Congress began negotiating and in November 2003, they settled on a compromise of 39%. That's the official record. But the scuttlebutt was that CBS and FOX were both at 39% and so instead of forcing them to sell stations, which could have begun a lengthy legal fight, Washington chose 39% to get it wrapped up.

  19. Totally irrelevant to the topic field. Disney won't be looking at these stations. Stop this magic wand wishcasting right now. I'm not "cheering" anything, I'm just not engaging in magic wand thinking and foolishly spouting off "Hearst! Graham! ABC!" when the facts state otherwise. They aren't buying a bunch of laggards, or anything else, for that matter. You are really getting on my nerves and I would strongly suggest refraining from making more posts like these.

  20. After CBS ended Late Late due to profitability, NBC is now tightening the budget at Late Night. Seth Meyers' house band to be gone by fall. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/seth-meyers-lose-night-band-013435108.html

  21. Good journalism and responsible use of the public's airwaves are not Sinclair's objectives. Their endgame is more money for them and power for the politicians they agree with. They've done it every presidential election year since at least 2004.

  22. Wasn’t KCNC previous set more than 10 years old? That would suggest it was time for an upgrade. Nevertheless, I don’t care for the wood treatment on the front of the desk. Maybe if it was darker (like KCAL) it would look better. Overall, the set is okay.

  23. When it comes to recouping their investment in employees, a lot of the so-called "training" is the corporate brainwashing that these companies pile on them. And therein lies the "trade secrets" these companies are trying to protect through non-competes and enforcing contracts. Just another example of top-down management trickling down to the average employee...
