Are you serious? The Hall show relocated to ABC's new headquarters at the start of 2025. She's now sharing The View's studio.3 points

Am I serious about what? I was unaware that Tamron Hall relocated to the new studio. Everybody doesn’t know everything, and thank you for informing me. There’s a more polite way that you could have informed me of that, instead of your usual sarcasm. Again, If you’re going to respond to anything I post check your tone first. I always reply to people respectfully on this thread, give me the same courtesy. You aside, the new studios are terrific so far. The lighting on The View also looks very good. Hoping the upcoming WABC set is just as great.2 points

Holy shit really?! You think the CBS package is good?! It's a terrible knock-off of the 2015 WTTV package that Tribune Creative West created which is far beyond the LinearDrift knockoff.2 points

I don't know of a single person that actually called KOLR10 "OzarksFirst" outright as its name, outside the context of the website. KRBK and KOZL are essentially complementary to KOLR10 (the virtual duopoly of Nexstar owning them with Mission owning KOLR notwithstanding). OzarksFirst.com is a well-established domain name. But to just supplant the legacy brand of KOLR10 News? I'm not sure I quite understand that logic. I guess time will tell if the name holds as the actual on-air brand. Overture is always a personal favorite but it was probably time for a change. I kinda wish SAM had created new PM cuts for Overture back when they did new cuts for AM shows. Guardian is a good choice music-wise. That is probably the best thing I can say about this change. Graphics isn't bad but I think the CBS package is aesthetically far superior to the ABC one.2 points

Not sure if this was ever brought up before, but the Tamron Hall Show has significantly improved its lighting. 2025: warmer lighting, smooth hd 2024: washed out fluorescent lighting, grainy HD Tamron show always had a good set but this goes to show the power of how lightning and picture quality can improve the way a show looks.1 point

Turns out the new updated package WPLG debuted last year is indeed spreading through Graham. WKMG has adopted the look (but is keeping the 2019 open, for now).1 point

A major loss for sure and one of the legends of the Columbus TV market. I still think he was pushed out at WCMH and his return to TV was as soon as he was able to. One of the many reasons ABC 6 & FOX 28 have become the new stations of record after NBC4 and 10TV's missteps and selling out to the highest bidder.1 point

Noticed this on the post-Super Bowl/The Floor, apparently they updated the video for (at least at night 9PM) the opens to their newscasts (V/O remains the same). 20250211_210115.mp41 point

Dickerson is a good interviewer/storyteller, but isn’t particularly great when it comes to breaking news coverage. He appeared tense and twice stumbled over his words during the EN the day after the DC plane/helicopter collision. Plus, he tends to not pay attention to the person he’s talking to (often writing on his note pad instead). In some ways, he is over analytical. DuBois, overall, is the better of the two, imo. Not sure why CBS has been so enamored with Dickerson when they have/had other male anchors/correspondents who are just as good (if not better). I still say he must have some dirt on people…1 point

Like WKBN I've never liked the co-opting of 'First News', a brand that was clearly intended for only morning usage, to an entire day, and especially in a compound way like this. It just needs to be 'KOLR 10 News' and feels like a bad back to the future step for Nexstar's early century obsession with long and bulky CamelCase web brands. I do understand it supports three stations now so they have to keep the branding, but few in Springfield associate the Nexstar shop with KRBK, and until the latest KY3 CW contract ends, KOZL is a pointless spare outside its 3.0 lighthouse usage.1 point

He anchors from the regular CBSEN studio. It’s worth noting the a majority of the new studio is simply video walls. All that surrounds John in the attached image (from Monday night) is a single U shaped video wall. The “monitor” Weijia is in - totally fake. I attached a pic of the building timelapse showing all the video walls and floor. The only actual set pieces are the wooden header, the desk, and the floor in front of it. In fact, the floor behind it is also a video wall. You’ll notice they pretape a lot of segments (including the penny one attached) on their set - it’s actually really creative.1 point

If we’re going off today, seems like she’ll likely ease her way back appearing only on the 11, while Sandra continues to fill in at 5.1 point

KNXV has named Fay Fredricks as the successor to Katie Raml after her retirement. She will co-ancher with Javier Soto beginning May 19. https://www.abc15.com/about-us/news-releases/abc15-arizona-names-fay-fredricks-as-evening-news-anchor?fbclid=IwY2xjawIXOqRleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHZL0RJEBi6A1E-YP5X3pmh7IxVysrXgV3OdfEZOtCy6tOBOtWG1-tw4AjA_aem_w04AdsKk0pNwpnqDCZ3xcQ1 point

Yeah. Same thing with WCJB. Some bumpers, IDs, and promos with GrayONE but nothing more. It has been more than a month too that WCJB has had them but as always, implementation takes time, whether its weeks or even months.1 point

Yes many Gray stations will usually start integrating GrayOne with the weather intros and updated logos... Update is iminent, but could be 1 week, could be another month.. WNEM was using GrayOne Weather Intros for well over a month before switching over...1 point

Ii debuted at 1pm PT but here's the 2pm PT open. Welcome to GrayONE, KVVU.1 point

This is from a company that kept the 1990 GFX package on Up to the Minute until the Couric era, so I'm much less surprised their graphic continuity doesn't extend to the weekend show.1 point

It boggles the mind. With the number of VPs, creative directors, art directors, and designers… Disappointing, but not surprising.1 point

In typical CBS News fashion, they make one big step forward and then two steps backwards. Why the inconsistency between the weekday and weekend?1 point

I noticed that was the first thing Maurice said. They seemed to want to make it a point and emphasize that the broadcast would be dedicated to covering the crash .1 point

Just saw the opening of the new Evening News, and it's just a short sting as was in the late-80s with Rather (albeit without the story rundowns; just right into the broadcast).1 point

CBS has the strongest Evening News, Political Affairs, and morning shows and News Magazine journalistically speaking. I still don't understand why they/Paramount seem to be struggling much more than NBC and ABC. Hopefully people give this a chance.1 point

Based on the similarities in the ticker layout, I’m assuming MAX Alert Live is the same alert system that Nexstar uses on most of its stations (like KFOR and KFDX).1 point

Meant to post this a while ago, but KOLN did some minor refinements to their graphics for the weather talent last month. Still using in house folks it seems, undoubtedly from the graphics hub staff I would bet, and still no Gray One but some minor elements of it show up in promos. They've also been still making new ones for thinks like their Night Beat and Morning Pulse streaming studio products. GrayOne is nice, but I like this custom package even more. It continues to give them an identity of their own.1 point

TIL the GrayONE package was not simply just a Matt Quinn job, but was a project done jointly with Tristan Bresnen. Videos of Tristan's work can be found on his new website: http://www.redterror.tv1 point

Ron Steele is hanging it up after 50 years at KWWL. Thursday, February 27th will be his last day. https://www.kwwl.com/news/waterloo/ron-steele-to-leave-kwwl-after-more-than-50-years/article_63958d1c-e8c9-11ef-9095-f7b9d04edefa.html?fbclid=IwY2xjawIZFj9leHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHUXpqKDQYLNPoWOfZ_GYkCIj8aFu2_0y2PrJP4az4eL6Oxe0Dv9_XqHAsA_aem_ZyJU_TWnh-0aMdvu3ga-TQ0 points

WKBN has been "FirstNews" for over 30 years, well before they even started WYFX, and when they were still locally owned and operated by the Williamson Family. If anything, I think they should have separated the branding a little more rather than using the "27" for both their CBS and Fox newscasts. Nexstar uses "Fox Youngstown" for general promotion, but their newscasts are all lumped into the "27 FirstNews" brand with the CBS look and CBS eye.0 points

Shannon has been morning co-anchor since Nov 2023. She’s been anchoring solo for a while while Heidi has been out. Wonder if they will pair someone with Shannon. There is a new news/sports reporter with prior morning news anchoring experience - David Horwitz, maybe we’ll see him in the anchor chair soon. Seems odd to have a solo anchor from 4:30-7am, but 4 anchors for 4-6:30pm0 points

Columbus weather legend Jym Ganahl has passed at 76. He came to WCMH in 1979 from KWWL, one of the youngest TV meteorologists in the nation. He 'retired" from WCMH in 2016. After a year, he returned to the air on WSYX/WTTE, retiring last year. This is a huge loss. His 'weather lore' was the best. RIP Jym.0 points
