  4. I know Raycom used it for almost all their stations, and then once sold to Gray, they adopted it more for the then-Gray legacy stations as well. For some reason, CBS O&O's have a Gray-like feel to them.

  5. With The Real leaving syndication, it's another hour that FOX/MNTV stations have to fill. With what? These syndicators are going to need to find new hosts (and shows) fairly quickly. Kelly Clarkson, y'all!

  6. WTTV is on a temporary set. It’s more like random walls decorated with stone, and a couple of newsroom shots. It’ll be interesting to see what Nexstar comes up with. The WTTV studio is SMALL. Prior to becoming CBS4, Studio B was home to Hoosier Lottery , which was shoved into a conference room.

  7. That's a retool of their existing package with new fonts. New promo graphics generally don't mean much.

  8. Infomercials and newscasts lol. Zero originality here. That's likely to be an NBC programme, not syndicated.

  9. Agreed! News coverage interruptions are getting more frequent especially during soaps!

  10. The problem is the only thing that's actually working in the talk show field, clear advertorial junk like The Balancing Act or The Daily Flash, is crap viewers will not go near because it screams advertorial, and ends up with awful time slots, and shows that move into segments with it have to step around a minefield. And there are still new court shows and formats being thrown in syndication, even as Judy in repeats, Judge Mathis and The People's Court are the ones that stick around. There's also the fact that even as Kelly is doing well, it also faces obnoxious pre-emptions for press conferences and local breaking news, which seem to be increasing as stations realize that they can just say 'uh, check YouTube or Twitter, record Bravo at 3am, or just pay $5 for Peacock', something they can't do for Ellen. Some stations want the 'news' cake, and will take a bite of it, even if talk show pre-emptions are the result. Also not helping; most of the stations where The Real ends up are the low-totem priority in a duopoly, so there was little promotion in these last seasons even as it was still going strong, and it got bumped to 4am through no fault of its own in many markets because Access Daily still has to be a thing, along with these lower-tier court shows. You don't promote shows on a MyNet affiliate or like Sinclair, bump it to a DT2 or DT3 position and then just collect the retransmission consent for a Dabl/TBD TV do-nothing schedule on the main channel, this is what's going to happen.

  11. WBBM/CBS Chicago's website has a shiny new look that mimics the main CBSNews.com page. Huge emphasis on the CBS News Chicago branding- gotta look a little to see a CBS2 logo anywhere Edit: WCBS is rocking the new look as well

  12. Wow. I enjoyed watching these two and both were entertaining in their own ways. It really feels like the next syndicated talk season will be unrecognizable -- if not even more than it is now.

  13. I wonder since Daphne Oz was part of the Good Dish, if it left a bad taste in some of the programmer's mouths, particularly in Pennsylvania where her father's running for Congress,, and thought that wouldn't be enough regarding the "equal time rule". Judge Jerry might live on in reruns on Nosey, where all the other shows similar to it are on. I think Nick Cannon premiered rather too late in syndication in many markets. WUPW didn't premiere it until after Wendy was sidelined and wouldn't be back. The Real seemed like it was going to end eventually someday, probably due to its ratings, being average and not totally improving over time.

  14. Proxima Nova will be the new font, and the colors are about right, but this promo is more transitional than a sign of things to come. The station logo is still the old one, as they're supposed to be adopting WABC's new model.

  16. I was going to write something out defending the concept of TV graphic artists copying each other, but it's really not just a problem there. The whole industry copies each other's work. Look at how many stations just blatantly copied WSVN's format in the 90's and early 2000's. The whole industry functions by taking what works in one market and either improving on it or just straight up copying it.

  17. They couldn't just get rid of WTTV to someone who wants it? I know that Nexstar kept it and tossed WISH into the bin, but Indy could use some decent ownership.

  18. Not surprised. Cannon had a great upbeat attitude, and his show had a more famous guest roster than his OG show "Wendy Williams". But his show was more of the same: celebrity guests, games, and pop culture.
