  1. Sounds per the video that he'll be popping up somewhere else soon, and we should know in a few weeks.
  2. Neither of Anita or Scott left around that time. I believe they rotated the noon between the two for a while. Walter was also in the morning show mix along with Michelle McCormack. Ironically, Rob was favored to get the 5pm when Marc left, but when Lisa got sick those plans went out the window.
  3. Yes and no. Marc last anchored in September 2002 but was on paid leave until December 2002. Lisa went on medical leave shortly after Marc left the newscast. She made a short comeback at 5pm but officially left Action News the first time around at the end of 2003. Lisa did return around 2006 but in the capacity of a features reporter. Around the same time as Marc and Lisa's disappearance Dave Roberts gave up the 5:30pm half hour (as well as the 11pm). Scott Palmer's head must have been spinning. Scott left himself a few years later.
  4. It'd be nice to see Dave Roberts, Marc Howard, Scott Palmer, or Rob Jennings make an appearance on her farewell show. Lisa, Marc, Scott, and Dave were a team for 20 years, from 1983-2002. Rob was often the main sub for Marc and Lisa during that span.
  5. On the contrary. She was an employee/aide to a political figure. He only made a donation to a foundation, not a candidate/political figure.
  6. I wonder if she took 4 months off of school after that because she was so upset. Relax, I'm kidding!!!
  7. Always good to hear a sound of reason. Letting it go as of this post. Good luck to Dana and I hope all turns out well for her.
  8. Many companies allow for reasonable leaves of absences. For the millionth time, I'm not judging her! Seems hypocritical of you and some others to accuse me and others of being judgmental and then turning around and being judgmental yourselves with the name calling. I don't care what you all say. Taking FOUR MONTHS OFF for a break-up is inexcusable. She is not the first or the last person to break-up, divorce, or lose a loved one. This is not a medical emergency or a family emergency. She's entiteled to be upset, no one's disputing that. She may still be rightfully upset two years from now. However, it is not reasonable to take off the next two years. I will repeat that you all on here are probably more upset about the break-up then she is.
  9. No one ever said it wasn't a big deal. When you're in the public spotlight, it comes with the territory. While I am not a doctor, if what the papers are saying is true, then I doubt that that situation qualifies for a four month medical leave. She's a public figure in the public eye. If she doesn't want her personal life in the news then she picked the wrong profession. I'm not saying it's right that the newspapers are printing her personal business, I am just saying that it comes with the territory. Had she come back after a "reasonable" time off, this probably would not have been in the papers. You're right, her love life is nobody's business but hers. However, your work life is also your boss's business. She is human and does have feelings. I never said that she shouldn't. She's entitled to be heartbroken and depressed if that is indeed what she's gone through (I probably would have been too). I never criticized her for what she's going through. I simply stated that most people in that situation would have been terminated. I suggested that she should have returned to work after a reasonable amount of time off while continuing to cope with the situation. If everyone took off four months after a personal tragedy (much worse ones than this one), we'd have a lot of issues in many workplaces. Good for you! Glad you're learning important life lessons from TVNewsTalk.net! I wish some others on here would learn grammer, punctuation, and common sense. For the record, I wasn't judging her. I and anyone else would have probably experienced similar feelings. I was simply stating my assessment of the situation. I think many of you are more emotional about the situation than she is. You need to get over yourselves. Life throws many curveballs. You can't just crawl into a corner and come out when you feel like it. People need to learn to deal with them because life goes on.
  10. No disrespect to her, but if I or any of you took that much time off because we were heartbroken and depressed, we no longer would be employed. She should have taken two weeks off, and then further coped with it while returning to work.
  11. I don't think a lot of stations aired it between 9am and 11am. But those were possible airtimes hence why she would not appear after 9am unless there was a major breaking story.
  12. Weekends at 6/11 used to be the same until Rob Jennings retired. Now Sunday's are co-anchored. I imagine when Jim retires he will be replaced by two co-anchors on both those newscasts (likely Rick&Monica at 11 and Brian&Sharie at 6).
  13. Michael Strahan appears on Fox during football season. Ryan Seacrest contributes to Today on NBC, hosted American Idol on Fox, and hosts New Years Rockin Eve on ABC. Tom Bergeron used to host the syndicated Hollywood Squares (on lots of CBS affiliates) while he hosted AFV on ABC.
  14. Not sure if this clears anything up: http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/miami-meteorologist-moves-to-detroit/170011
  15. Wonder if they'll use the "NewsEdge" name for it. Also surprised they didn't use a different anchor for it.
  16. I wonder if they will promote their entertainment person (Carson?) to be the "fourth person" on the main show.
  17. Kirsten Cole should be a shoe-in that spot or alternatively should have her co-anchor with Kori on weekend evenings. As for the male, I see Jay Dow or Dan Mannarino co-anchoring the weekend mornings. Narmeen Choudhury should also be in the mix for either weekend evenings or mornings.
  18. I also enjoy Natalie, and would rather see Al and maybe Matt go. But I don't foresee her continuing in the newsreader capacity from the west coast. She would come on air at 4am PT, plus have AH to do. Doesn't seem likely.
  19. Wonder who will replace Natalie as newsreader? I'm guessing Tamron will. Al needs a new role. He's become boring and stale. Will Natalie host AH solo or with Kit Hoover? Will Natalie also co-host the spinoff AHLive?
  20. I agree. I was just stating that it appears that there is no permanent anchor, but rather a set of rotating anchors. If you look back on this thread, you will see that some were insisting that Jose D-B was the permanent anchor.
  21. If my memory serves me correct, Jose D-B has only anchored Saturday NN once in the past 4 weeks. Thomas Roberts anchored twice, and tonight Willie Geist was the anchor. The intro didn't say that Roberts or Geist were filling in, nor did either of them mention they were subbing. So as I suspected earlier in this thread, it appears that Jose D-B is one of a few rotating anchors of Saturday NN.
  22. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/billy-bush-exits-access-hollywood-888032 Looks like ABC isn't the only one that's gonna experience changes in the 9am hour. Billy Bush seems to be joining the 9am hour of Today in some capacity. More surprising is that he'll be exiting AHL (which airs at 11am after Today on NBC affiliates in quite a few markets) and AH (which airs at 7:30pm on NBC affiliates in a lot of markets).
  23. While I agree with Ron they should've asked his consent, I don't believe they were legally obligated to and therefore he likely has no legal grounds to sue upon.
  24. Vai usually does it. He is the normal anchor. Tracy usually anchors the beginning of the morning show solo as well.
  25. Duke used to be at nights and went to mornings. At that time, Russ was exclusively on the My9 side and when Duke moved to mornings, Russ would appear on Fox5 from the My9 newsroom to do sports. When My9's newscast got cancelled Russ began appearing in studio at Fox5.
