1. WPLG does it, WSVN does it, WABC does it, most stations in the west coast do it. So... yeah.
2. It probably debuted on Saturdays too but will wait until the college football season is over for it to debut on Saturdays as well.
3. What a great man who created so much. Plus, he was about to bring Spanish television to the market with Telemundo Delmarva. He'll be sorely missed.
4. The one who worked for WPEC?
5. Newsy is going to cable! Like actual cable, not the OTA market. It's taking over Retirement Living TV. http://www.broadcastingcable.com/news/local-tv/scripps-owned-newsy-becoming-cable-channel-after-rltv-purchase/168360
6. Sorry to double post but... correct! Five more markets to rebrand left and MyTV will be no more as a branding used from FOX.
7. It's about time! Half-hour or a full hour? The other three are an hour-long.
8. I run The Changing Newscasts Blog and Public Media Fans. Other than that, I'm just a student at U.F. in Gainesville, Fla.
9. I don't know if this was the right place to bring this up or not but... WUFT out of Gainesville from the University of Florida (DISCLAIMER: I currently attend the university as a Telecom student wanting to possibly get into Journalism or become a broadcaster of some sort) has launched a new podcast called Broadcast Bits, which takes a look at the changing landscape in the local television news industry. The first episode talks about the Independent News Network from Arkansas which produces local news for various markets across the country. The second episode talks about the "all about Me TV" pinnacle that's happening within the local TV industry and yes, Scott Jones from FTVLive is interviewed on this episode. The short weekly podcast is hosted by Harrison Hove, former anchor at WCMH-TV 4 (NBC) in Columbus, Ohio, who is now U.F. College of Journalism and Communications' News Manager for the Innovation NewsCenter (the nickname for the WUFT-TV-FM Newsroom). Episode 1: https://www.wuft.org/news/2017/08/23/broadcast-bits-episode-1/ Episode 2: https://www.wuft.org/news/2017/08/30/broadcast-bits-episode-2/
10. That one is interesting. I thought it should've gone to a different company. Heartland perhaps so that it can have KIEM and KHSL/KNVN. Sinclair will soon have KRCR and KAEF as well as KCVU and KBVU.
11. FOX O&O's that currently use NewsEdge: KRIV (as of Monday; 10pm) WAGA (11pm) WJBK (11pm) WOFL (11pm) FOX O&O's that have used NewsEdge: KDFW (9pm segments) KTBC (across all newscasts was used, I think) WTVT (11pm) WTTG (6 and 11pm) FOX O&O's that have never used NewsEdge: KMSP KSAZ KTTV KTVU WFLD WJZY WNYW WOGX (it still doesn't simulcast WOFL's 11pm weeknight news) WTXF You'd be surprised that a majority of its O&O's actually never used it.
12. Oh I don't know. At this point, we can all agree now that KPNX is definitely not #1 and neither is or will be KPHO.
13. The way KPNX does news now? There's no way they're still #1 now. It has to be KTVK or KSAZ by now.
14. Enough that KPNX has been ruined. Its enough for either KTVK or KSAZ to now win the Phoenix ratings.
15. Sorry for the double post but don't you think this will also mean that KMSP will add news to WFTC as well? Just like its other sister stations?
16. You mean midday and 5:00-7:00 p.m. Dave has long stopped anchoring Daybreak.
17. Don't tell me we're at this again! http://wvxu.org/post/new-owners-charter-cable#stream/0
18. Another FOX O&O / MyTV rebrand. Starting Monday, KUTP 45 will become known as FOX 10 Xtra and FOX 10 News NOW will be making its television debut.
19. I would love to see her on WOFL or on WKMG. I think WFTV's too crowded.
20. This guy was good and trusted, just like Harvey, Don Kent and Bruce. He will be severely missed.
21. Everything is right on this ID except KNEP and KCHY because I think KCHY still simulcasts KCWY-DT while KNEP should be 4.2, not 2.1. KOTA is on 4.1 It's also weird that the flagship of this multi-simulcast is KNEP thinking that it should be KSTF 10.2 instead since its licensed to Scottsbluff.
22. Oh and its partly produced out of Arkansas. Because that same set is also used for WGFL/WNBW's news too.
23. I didn't see that one coming.
24. WHTV in Lansing was supposed to sign off months ago on April 30th. It keeps on chugging extra life and battery for some reason. But the next date to try to go off air is August 31st, 2017 at 12 Midnight. Until it happens, I doubt they'll sign off by then too. Btw, its still just Jewelry Television on 18.1
25. And the next KCRA 3 and KQCA 58.
