  1. Other than the big markets like NYC, LA, Chi etc, where there is 5+ newsrooms mid-sized & small markets will only have 1 or 2 newsrooms in my opinion and that is the reality in my opinion. I don't see Newsmax and the other liberal groups that don't like media mergers is going to stop this merger from happening in my opinion no matter the letter campaign isn't going to change minds.
  2. Pie in the sky from that article sounds to be PBS lite to me and I'm not into PBS I'll leave it at that. Kinda how I feel about townhall meetings which are on the public access channels which I find them to be boring, and I'd not watch it on a main channel with better video quality either.
  3. I wish that local on the 8s were still use after they go to the reality TV shows as they haven't been airing them for the past couple of weeks.
  4. Put some colors in the sports bug I like the Lions preseason score bug that is what FOX should've gone for in my opinion.
  5. I always like the Action News brand I know in West Michigan no TV station ever used the Action News brand. Eyewitness News was used for many years in West Michigan I don't get why channel 13 dropped Eyewitness News brand.
  6. Sinclair buys COX there only buy they can make in my opinion otherwise they'll be sold by someone else in my opinion. I wouldn't be surprised if they have to sell the diginets as well.
  7. UFC PPV events were only on ESPN+ only and it was like $80 dollars a year as an add on I believe. Surprised that ESPN or FOX didn't want to take the UFC rights again I didn't think that CBS would've gotten the UFC rights. Looks like CBS will air some UFC events on Sat nights at 8PM what FOX did when they had UFC rights. ABC only aired UFC events at 3PM on Sat afternoons never in primetime those were always on ESPN.
  8. Expiring contracts and Nexstar taking The CW on their own stations on DT2 or a sister TV station although kinda surprised that in some markets that Nexstar is in the rivals still have The CW was kinda surprised that Sinclair owns a couple CWs in IL thar Nexstar has TV station in the same market, kinda surprised they didn't take them away when Sinclair renewed for The CW in 2023.
  9. Thinking about it WOTV Sat & WZZM Sat can be merged you could make The CW a DT1 on either WOTV or WZZM as The CW has always been DT2 since the launched in 2006.
  10. I didn't think that Derek Hough would be the new host of Extra, congrats Derek on being named new host of Extra on Sep 8.
  11. I thought that Byron Allen was going to have to sell his TV stations piecemeal as I don't think anyone could buy it as a whole in my opinion. I hope Gray gets rid of Byron Cheap Skate Allen's syndication dreck out on the TV stations their buying.
  12. I feel sorry for those that lost their jobs over at WZZM and being hub out I saw it coming since TEGNA started to do it at the end of 2024 and also putting the for sale sign as well.
  13. I wonder if WOTV could be the sole ABC station in West Michigan if Nexstar could take ABC away when they have to sell WZZM could they do the shell and Mission gets WZZM. I'm thinking that WZZM is a top 4 station and would have to be sold.
  14. Live PD: Police Patrol was on WXSP until that ended in June 2020 and aired Cops forever since it's launched in late Aug of 99 until that ended in fall of 2020. I wouldn't be surprised if Live PD+ is aired on WXSP maybe CW6 their sister station. As for True Crime News that was Crime Watch Daily from the Dead Tribune used their news stations for the 3 years 2015-18 and others as well with FOX being partners for True Crime News but just didn't work. I'd watch it if it was on in the afternoon or even early access prime and late night as I'm not a morning person I didn't watch True Crime News.
  15. I'm surprised that Bill Steffen didn't want to start Michigan Weather Network since he is a legend after all he now has his own website kinda wish he would still do text and not all video from YouTube or have a mix of both in my opinion. Kinda surprised that Wood TV still has his blog up from 7 months ago I thought they would get rid of it.
  16. Then why did NBC get rid of NBCSN in 2021 to bring it back from the dead maybe because of the NBA rights deal. Why not just use USA wasn't that why they shutdown NBCSN in 2021?
  17. Ford Field looked like it was COVID for Michigan Panthers games hardly anyone their unlike when it's Lions where it is always a sellout. I was rooting hard for Michigan to win the UFL Championship I stopped watching when DC was all but going to win the game. I hope they're not moving to Ohio.
  18. Julie Dunmire will be the Kazoo reporter; I'm not a fan of the neighborhood reporter this has been an epic failure from Scripps. Fire Adam and get a new CEO Scripps.
  19. Isn't WPLG going to air those HBCU Football & basketball games in the fall? That is what ARC-WMI airs from Sep to March before the tourneys begin in mid-March.
  20. Cablevision & LIN TV then owner of WOOD TV did battle quite a bit in the 90s which started in 93 for a few months they couldn't reach a deal wasn't until closer to Super Bowl 28 when they agreed to a new deal. I didn't have Cablevision at the time I had Adelphia Comm before I moved in 96 only without WOOD TV for 6 hours returned at 6AM in fall of 93. Then in Jan 96 WOOD TV was taken off Cablevision once again they found loophole and that was returned just before Super Bowl 30, 97 was off for the whole year and I had to watch WOOD TV on rabbit ears put a crappy cable network in its place called Romance Classic UGH, it wasn't even about retrans it was about putting the weather radar and the weather radio in the background which became general entertainment channel WXSP in 1999. Suckyvision always seem to get a deal done right before you guessed it Super Bowl 2 days before SB32 otherwise had to watch it on rabbit ears and Cablevision didn't put the weather channel on the system as LIN wanted that on basic and Cablevision didn't want to put it on basic. May 2001 was when Charter Spectrum put WXSP in the lineup which was UPN at the time and airing Tigers, Pistons, & Redwings as well. WWMT wanted to do a news update which was on Headline News at the bottom of every half hour with their agreement with Cablevision which was taken off I believe in 2002 on Headline News.
  21. Seems like they been 18 & 48 past the hour. I saw it on Fri was very odd they should keep it on the 8's and not 27 or 53 past the hour in my opinion.
  22. Daybreak has a newcasts at 8AM on WOODTV+ seen promos for it, always surprised that they never put a morning newscast on WXSP with then owners LIN TV/Media General/Nexstar I wonder if it has to do that, they didn't want to go up against the cash cow that is Today? As FOX17 is the only morning newscast at 7AM although I think the 5AM to 7AM is anchorless and just do news stories other than weather. I don't know that as I don't watch the morning news as I'm not a morning person.
  23. I was surprised by the Late Show being cancelled I thought maybe they would get a new host if they couldn't renew Colbert in my opinion. It had a good run with David Letterman 22 years out of 33 years on air with Colbert. I was never into the late night shows I always preferred Jay Leno over David Letterman if I watched late night which I largely was in bed going to sleep I'd sleep with The Tonight Show on in the background as I have to have the TV on all night to sleep.
  24. His new network will be an epic fail just go away Dr. Phil no one wants to watch you 24/7.
  25. I saw OAN on channel 687 in Kazoo on July 4TH I don't have the channel as I got the upgrade screen just went back to the channel I was at before OAN. FOX Weather is 689 when that was added in Jan 2023 Spectrum News took Channels 1 & 688 and Spectrum News Spanish is channel 299.
