As I have said many of times Byron Cheap Skate Allen had no business to buy TV stations and should've just stayed in his lane with his cheap syndication dreck, he was always a Wannabe Media Mogle, and his empire is about to crash. I'm sure those that work for Allen Media at the local level are happy their being sold sometime soon.

CBS going to use the indies to become CBS O&Os if TV station groups in the big markets don't want to shell out the $$$ for CBS. Yeah, I think that WANF will move The CW over and WPCH goes indie and airs sports in my opinion. The Big 4 don't mind switching TV stations any more than say 30 years ago when CBS lost the legacy channels in major markets like Detroit, ATL etc.

Glad your family missed the tornados.

Seems that KCTV under Gray is still a mess that no one can fix from the Meredith days maybe it has been that way for decades at KCTV.

Steve Wilkos wasn't aired for 2 & half years after FOX17 didn't renew it in fall of 2021 returned in Jan 2024 when CW7 changed things around after losing The CW which they didn't need make changes other than primetime in my opinion. Karamo wasn't added until March of 2023 on WXSP and now CW6.

And also, Thur when the nasty storms hit Michigan a few spin up tornados were reported. The power flickered a few times but didn't lose it like a lot did in my area where I lived thankful for that, and was a light show didn't here all that much thunder.

TEGNA Broadcasting and Digital General Discussion

I'm surprised that WZZM isn't airing local Fever games again this year could put it on one of the subchannels could get better ratings than the diginet does in my opinion. I'd get it if Detroit had a WNBA team that they couldn't air Caitlin Clark's Fever games.- 3697 replies

Steve Wilkos will be the last that last for 20+ years those days are over with talkers lasting this long in my opinion. Will not be surprised if Karamo gets renewed as well.

I have had Charter Spectrum since 2000 way better than the cable company formally known as Suckyvision Oh, I mean Cablevision in Kazoo County I was without Wood TV for a full year had to watch it on rabbit ears Jan 97 to Jan 98 didn't get Wood TV back until 2 days before SB32. I didn't see this one coming Charter & COX merger and yeah, I see Spectrum adding Spectrum News to the new footprint, as Spectrum News just launched in Michigan. As I saw it in the lineup on Fri when the power flickered once again after the nasty storms on Thur guessing that the power company was working on something in my opinion. I have watched it for a few minutes more for the weather the top stories was those nasty storms on Thur and St. Louis getting those nasty storms on Fri. I have had no problems with Spectrum either.

I had a feeling that FOX was going to get into the streaming game with FOX One. I wonder if FOX One will air original content for the streamer?

I think both sides agree to part ways and Billy wanted to do more podcasting with his Hot Mics Billy's old place Access Hollywood a few weeks ago was talking about some celeb that was on Hot Mics with Billy Bush. I like how no one ever mentions their rivals when Mario Lopez got his star on Walk Of Fame at the end of Extra last year they just said former Extra host and did a mini interview saying how he liked working for Extra that was about it.

ARC-WMI has moved Rock Review to Sun afternoons 2:30PM to 3PM from 7:30PM to 8PM. Song no longer in the lineup Big Bang has returned to the Sun 7PM to 8PM.

WZZM has had 24/7 weather channel since 2006 it isn't on any of the Pay-TV channels anymore, I don't get why they don't move it to DT6/7 and bump the diginets nets True Crime Network to DT2 & Quest to DT3 which Charter Spectrum airs both those networks and I'm sure Comcast does the same as well in West Michigan.- 3697 replies

Maybe Raycom Sports just has a better name and legacy and Gray may not want to rebrand it.

R.I.P. Pope Franics.

I'm surprised that Amy Freeze didn't go back to local TV stations once she left FOX Weather last year.
-
Chris & Jacqui would be good hires for FOX Weather I don't know if they want to move to NYC may have family in the ATL so I don't blame them if they don't sign with FOX Weather.

I saw the anchorless newscast on Fri at 6:30PM Opening Day for the White Caps the morning team trying the new food items that look nasty and gross but I'm a picky eater. I don't really like the anchorless newscast they did have an update to a news story which was national before the weather. And WXMI FOX17 cut the 5AM newscast on the weekends now Cirictlee movie review show at 5AM and The Pulse a political show from sister TV station WXYZ SAT & Sun.

I thought that Deborah was leaving Inside Edition as she is hosting the game show when that got cleared a couple of weeks ago. Plus, Deborah has been taking a lot of breaks these past few years as well she had a great run at Inside Edition which no one will match that 30 years as host of Inside Edition in my opinion.

All the best Chris Warren in the next chapter.

WWMT when the nasty weather hit Sunday used ARC-WMI for the nonstop weather coverage since MSU was playing Auburn when the storms were about to flare up. Didn't want to deal with upset MSU fans I wonder if MSU wasn't playing if they would've cut in for the storm coverage, they did a cut in before the 2ND half was about to begin. All my years never seen a weather met call hub when the cut in was over on all the local TV stations in West Michigan. Interesting that happened in NC a couple of weeks ago shouldn't Charlotte be master control since that is a big city why call Indy for that.

I remember those days as well since I grew up in the 80s & 90s watching Star Search WXMI FOX17 on Sun at 4PM and some syndication sitcoms I was into as well. And not many put on movies like they once did in the 80s to early 2000s other than maybe one movie a week WXSP Sat afternoon 1PM to 3PM & the same movie repeated on sister station WOTV on Late SAT/Early SUN. That is wrong that some TV stations just air paid programming in blocks during the weekdays I get maybe an hour at most it shouldn't be 2+ hours of paid programming. Or split it up like the new CW does M-F 6AM to 7AM, 12PM to 1PM, & 3AM to 4AM that I have no problem with. Not surprised that WPLG is going with a lot of news since Miami is a pretty big market to do the all news for most of the day and as many stations across the country say news on your time, meaning that you shouldn't be watching all the newscast which will be rehashed and maybe an update every so often.
-
Not surprised that COX Media will be sold as Apollo ran it into the ground. I think that Nexstar buys the COX TV stations since they only have to sell just couple of TV stations in the same market and maybe sell the radio or as someone else said group B gets the radio stations in this thread.
-
Not surprised that The Flip Side got renewed since CBSM had another game show The Perfect Line for the fall which will be paired with The Flip side on CBS O&Os indie stations. I think that Billy Bush will remain host of Extra in my opinion unless he doesn't want to be host anymore. As I said that it be one & done for True Crime News once JHud got renewed for a season 4.

I didn't see WPLG losing ABC to WSVN I guess ABC or Scripps didn't want ABC on WSFL which would have to build a newsroom from the bottom up and their woes as a hole at Scripps HQ. WSVN was ABC's better choice in Miami in my opinion on a subchannel, and maybe FOX moves in Miami when the deal comes up with WSVN in the next few years maybe FOX buys WPLG or stays with WSVN.
