I'm surprised that Amy Freeze didn't go back to local TV stations once she left FOX Weather last year.

Chris & Jacqui would be good hires for FOX Weather I don't know if they want to move to NYC may have family in the ATL so I don't blame them if they don't sign with FOX Weather.

I saw the anchorless newscast on Fri at 6:30PM Opening Day for the White Caps the morning team trying the new food items that look nasty and gross but I'm a picky eater. I don't really like the anchorless newscast they did have an update to a news story which was national before the weather. And WXMI FOX17 cut the 5AM newscast on the weekends now Cirictlee movie review show at 5AM and The Pulse a political show from sister TV station WXYZ SAT & Sun.

I thought that Deborah was leaving Inside Edition as she is hosting the game show when that got cleared a couple of weeks ago. Plus, Deborah has been taking a lot of breaks these past few years as well she had a great run at Inside Edition which no one will match that 30 years as host of Inside Edition in my opinion.

All the best Chris Warren in the next chapter.

WWMT when the nasty weather hit Sunday used ARC-WMI for the nonstop weather coverage since MSU was playing Auburn when the storms were about to flare up. Didn't want to deal with upset MSU fans I wonder if MSU wasn't playing if they would've cut in for the storm coverage, they did a cut in before the 2ND half was about to begin. All my years never seen a weather met call hub when the cut in was over on all the local TV stations in West Michigan. Interesting that happened in NC a couple of weeks ago shouldn't Charlotte be master control since that is a big city why call Indy for that.

I remember those days as well since I grew up in the 80s & 90s watching Star Search WXMI FOX17 on Sun at 4PM and some syndication sitcoms I was into as well. And not many put on movies like they once did in the 80s to early 2000s other than maybe one movie a week WXSP Sat afternoon 1PM to 3PM & the same movie repeated on sister station WOTV on Late SAT/Early SUN. That is wrong that some TV stations just air paid programming in blocks during the weekdays I get maybe an hour at most it shouldn't be 2+ hours of paid programming. Or split it up like the new CW does M-F 6AM to 7AM, 12PM to 1PM, & 3AM to 4AM that I have no problem with. Not surprised that WPLG is going with a lot of news since Miami is a pretty big market to do the all news for most of the day and as many stations across the country say news on your time, meaning that you shouldn't be watching all the newscast which will be rehashed and maybe an update every so often.

Not surprised that COX Media will be sold as Apollo ran it into the ground. I think that Nexstar buys the COX TV stations since they only have to sell just couple of TV stations in the same market and maybe sell the radio or as someone else said group B gets the radio stations in this thread.
-
Not surprised that The Flip Side got renewed since CBSM had another game show The Perfect Line for the fall which will be paired with The Flip side on CBS O&Os indie stations. I think that Billy Bush will remain host of Extra in my opinion unless he doesn't want to be host anymore. As I said that it be one & done for True Crime News once JHud got renewed for a season 4.

I didn't see WPLG losing ABC to WSVN I guess ABC or Scripps didn't want ABC on WSFL which would have to build a newsroom from the bottom up and their woes as a hole at Scripps HQ. WSVN was ABC's better choice in Miami in my opinion on a subchannel, and maybe FOX moves in Miami when the deal comes up with WSVN in the next few years maybe FOX buys WPLG or stays with WSVN.

Eight CBS Stations to Ditch CW and Go Independent This Fall

100 Days To Indy moves from The CW to FOX Nation for season 3, since FOX has the Indy Car rights makes sense they get the doc 100 Days To Indy. -
I feel sorry for those that lost their jobs at WXMI FOX17 and the sports department, I know Remi Monaghan left the business in Feb on her own terms good for her as she knew that she wasn't going to be renewed or saw the writing on the wall. I see Scripps on the market and selling their TV stations shouldn't have bought ION in my opinion. And I wonder if Scripps hands in the FOX license for WXMI FOX17 I doubt it but it's a slim chance it happens.

I wonder if Flint will be the next to get the weather from The Weather Channel. Yup, was always Byron Allen's plan to do it he didn't care that he'd get flack for this move all in the name to cut cost. But that has always been the Byron Allen way being cheap.

NOAA layoffs and TV weather coverage
Megatron81 replied to tyrannical bastard's topic in The Weather Lab
I'll always be weather aware on those days if serve weather is in the forecast when it's level 2 or above I kinda freak when it hits orange a couple days out why I just don't read ACCUWeather on those days and only the local TV stations weather mets I'll listen to. As ACCUWeather puts fear into those types of articles I'll read them sometimes if Michigan isn't in a risk area thou. -
Sinclair Broadcast Group - General Discussion

Better name than TBD never liked that name for a diginet in my opinion. Anything was going to be a better name than TBD thou. -
It will be interesting where the Sunday Night Baseball package goes to come 2026, I think maybe FS1 if FOX Sports takes the package, maybe The CW will bid on it, streaming Netflix, Amazon Prime Video etc. I'm surprised that ESPN didn't ask for a discount a few years ago when they decided not to air as many MLB games that would've been the right time for them to do it in my opinion.

MAD appealing The FCC ruling on the Fox29 license renewal all on the character issue they should just take the L as it will be denied as it should again. Will MAD take The FCC to court if they don't get their way on the matter.

Sinclair Broadcast Group - General Discussion

Seems to me that The National Desk doesn't have many ads seems to be a lot of promos at least the weekend edition of TND as I don't watch the weekday or weeknight of the show largely in the background for the last 10 to 15 minutes of the show as I like the crime show they air on ARC-WMI on Saturday Night at 11:30PM. -
I wonder if WWMT will go for news at 4PM in the fall I thought that was going to be the case in fall of 2023 and that didn't happen. Or maybe get into the pay-for-play program with a local lifestyle program.
-
ARC-WMI airs Song on Sun at 7PM & Rock Review 7:30PM I think both maybe produce from Sinclair at least Rock & Review is anyway. Not surprised that Tamron Hall was renewed for a season 7 kinda surprised that it has always been on the lower networks here in West Michigan CW7/ARC for 5 seasons and CW6 getting it this past fall kinda surprised that Wood TV, WWMT when Sinclair had it didn't put Tamron on where Dr. Phil has been for years after that went after the show ended in 2023 in my opinion etc.

I'll watch Grand Slam Track sounds interesting as I like Track & Field why isn't the main NBC going to air it thou and only on Peacock streaming only. NBC not have enough space to fill on the weekend like The CW does.
-
It was alright not good but not bad either guess I'm indifferent on this.
-
WOTV DT4 is now Shop LC as the Dabal deal expired and didn't renew it which Charter Spectrum removed channel 180 as the programming no longer on although Shop LC is on channel 183 or 184 in Kazoo systems.
-
WOOD TV does the bite size news they have a live desk news & interviews that is what the promos have been saying for the past couple of years. Maybe that is how they got past the 2-hour rule before the newscast could be streamed but I don't know that for sure. Does other Nexstar stations have a live desk for online and bite size news for weather, sports and interviews with someone local or famous celebrity etc.?

I thought that Pictionary was doing well in the ratings I'm surprised that got cancelled truth be told I think that WOTV will just air of the newer game shows come fall of 2025. I'm not surprised by Person, Place, Or Thing getting cancelled I didn't think it was going to last all that long as that was aired in the graveyard on FOX17. Dish Nation I was quite surprised it lasted as long as it did truth be told I thought it be a goner years ago but I guess it had a niche following why it stayed on for 10+ years in syndication. As for the bubble shows that aren't TMZ, TMZ Live, & Sherri WBD shows that will stay is Extra since that is lead in on most FOX O&O's for TMZ & JHud. I think True Crime News could very well be the odd show out I hope that will be renewed that one is truly on the bubble in my opinion.
