I didn't have this on my BINGO card Sinclair taking a stake in Scripps at just 8%. Seems like Scripps is having none of it really what the Scripps board needs to do is fire the CEO why does Adam still have a job? Running Scripps into the ground shouldn't have bought ION a few years ago that was their undoing in my opinion. Sorry for beating that dead horse once again.

As long as Andrew didn't go on Chris's show I have no problem with Chris calling the race that his brother lost. CNN should've kept the rule when Chris was a host of the show that Andrew couldn't be on it, it was nothing but butt kissing by Chris when he interviewed his brother during COVID.

NPG will be out of the TV business and are sellers.
-
That the government shutdown is coming to an end, I think Nexstar will be sending the paper work into The FCC before Thanksgiving in my opinion.
-
Wouldn't have Gray bought WXMI in the summer when they were trading with Scripps, would've made sense back then which I think Scripps wanted to keep FOX17 even know there running it into the ground in my opinion.

Great to see the NBA back on NBC yeah, I also wish that they got the NBA finals every other year and not just ABC.
-
Surprised that YouTube didn't add it when it was The CW a few years ago, I'm sure those that had YouTube TV in Indy just got the national feed.

Seem when subchannels became a thing that the TV stations just put the weather radar on the loop I know that is what WOOD TV did heck they did that in the 90s before they made WXSP a general entertainment channel in late Aug 1999. Charter Spectrum added the weather channel in spring of 2004 good when the storms were coming in even know the audio was from NOAA Radio. The weather radar is no more as WOTV moved it DT4 9 years ago when they got Get TV on DT2.

I think Ghost goes national syndication in 2026 in my opinion, which I thought that was case this year but that was only in a few large markets.

Amazon if they buy WBD will get all of MGM library which would be full circle. I see a sale for WB studios & Discovery, but no one is buying it whole in my opinion a lot of debt as someone already said in the thread.

Sinclair Broadcast Group - General Discussion
Megatron81 replied to Smitha A's topic in Corporate Chat
Because AWS was down WWMT news wasn't on this morning or the noon newscast I saw the note when I was going to check weather at noon, but it was Full Measure. -
I hope CBS doesn't give Byron Wann-be Media Mogul Allen 11:30PM timeslot which CBS isn't giving back to the local stations which I thought they would've done when After Midnight ended. But gave it to Byron Cheapskate Allen and his Comics show that isn't new from 2006 & 2014 or was it 15 when they put out new Comics show. I think that CBS should maybe put a Nightline type show or go with Inside Edition show in that 11:30PM timeslot I don't think a long form interview will work in this day in age in late night in my opinion.

PSU likes its football over WPSU the boosters do since it is them that is paying James Franklin's buyout and doesn't pay for WPSU bills like they do the football program, and I didn't know that Penn State is leaving Nike for Adidas which Penn State needs Nike more than Nike needs Penn State. Sorry for going off topic a bit.

West Michigan DMA last, I check was either 44 or 45, 20 years ago was 39 in DMA rankings.

I thought that Sinclair & Nexstar were going to return Jimmy Kimmel to the ABC stations I didn't think it was going to last long. Where I live it wasn't a problem since TEGNA owned WZZM and kept Jimmy Kimmel as is. I'm not into late night talk shows that goes back since I was a teen when it was Leno & Letterman. I didn't know in 93 that WZZM didn't air NYPD Blue in its first season they aired Baywatch on Wed at 10PM. At my first house the cable company I had at the time didn't have WZZM I had WOTV, and they aired NYPD Blue and didn't ban it.

The Goldbergs are still on in syndication.

WXSP: Judy Justice moves to 1PM to 2PM, Family Feud 5PM to 7PM then remains on sister station WOTV 7PM to 8PM 3 hours of Family Feud is overkill also how I feel about Judge Judy even know it is spread out throughout the day. Friends 11PM to 11:30PM replacing Dish Nation I wonder if that is just stop gap for Ghost which debuts in syndication in 2 weeks on Oct 6, Crime Beat at 2AM to 3AM.
-
I thought that Jimmy Kimmel was going to return didn't want to give Trump that W. As someone else said once his contract comes up in 2026 the show will be ending in my opinion, and Jimmy Kimmel becomes his own boss on streaming in my opinion. I wonder if Nexstar & Sinclair will air Kimmel or just have a replacement with news or syndication on their TV stations.

I was always surprised that Disney wouldn't pay to just get rid of the 700 Club off Freeform. I don't know what will happen with WGVU NPR/PBS station in West Michigan looks like they have had lots of donations from an article and could lose about $1.4 Million from an article I just looked up from WOOD TV.

I didn't know that Chris Ruddy was against Nexstar & Tribune merger and also the Sinclair failed merger with Tribune as well. I'll admit I was wrong.

WISH TV: 11 quit or are fired over non competes
Megatron81 replied to newsman123's topic in General TV
I smell lawsuit for Circle City from those that got fired as they should I'd get a lawyer and take Circle City to the cleaners. I feel that Circle City will be sold in my opinion. -
Not surprised that The CW reupped with the Lil PAC with 9 members for football, Men's & Women's Basketball kinda surprised they didn't air OSU & WSU Men's basketball last year & this year.
-
I hope the director & Kamie Rosler got some extra pay for being a one person show on KIMT. All of Byron I'm A Cheapskate & Wannabe Media Mogle Allen is just his syndication dreck he is too cheap to get TMZ, ET, Wheel, J etc On any of his TV stations and if he has any of the shows just waiting until they expire and someone else buys them in those 18 markets, he owns TV stations before their sold to someone else.
-
Yeah, Newsmax is far right there with the liberal groups like Free Press and a few others that don't like media mergers. Where was Newsmax when Nexstar bought Tribune in late 2018/2019 I didn't hear from them when that got approved. Newsmax doesn't care about local news unless they want to buy some channels to put Newsmax 2 on the air or something as Weeters said.
