  1. I think the investigative units of news stations is where the ambush happens on contractors that scam people which I like when they catch them on camera. I feel that would be a good show for local TV stations to do for at least a half hour on the weekends I remember Spike TV had a series called To Catch A Contractor which they need or any type of scamming doesn't have to be contractors. You still see ambushes in newscasts largely businesses taking average Joe/Jane's money for work done at the house.
  2. I wonder if WBD will sell its stake in NBATV after 2024-25 NBA season is over. I think Charles Barkley will remain on TV in some form the money is too much for him to retire if he does retire all the best enjoy retirement Sir Charles.
  3. I think NBC should use USA Network to air some Big East games and not have it all for Peacock kinda like the NBA deal as well.
  4. Fox will have the doubleheader as they also air the Coke500 the same day as the Indy500. Has CBS ever got the rights to Indy500, I know ABC had it for decades before NBC a few years ago and now Fox in 2025.
  5. I don't see Sinclair axing NBC just because of MSNBC taking them to task Sinclair doesn't care if they get good press or bad press like most O&O's along with cable news in my opinion.
  6. I'm glad to see Daily Blast Live got canceled it was a flop like Scripps The List both shows were largely on TEGNA & Scripps TV stations only a few outside the TV group carried it either show. I think a few Sinclair TV stations did sign onto DBL last fall I think Scripps did a handful in 2018 and lot of them dropped it after a year I know in Lansing was on Fox47 in the late-night hour sister station aired it in the afternoons 2018-19 I didn't see it after that season online TV guide. Will be interesting what WZZM will be doing in the fall at 7:30PM or if they start a 7PM newscast to compete with Wood TV and move ET to 7:30PM but ET has been on at 7PM on WZZM since 94. Which I couldn't watch ET for 2 years as the cable company I had in the first house I ever lived in didn't have WZZM when I got Cablevision again in 96 they had WZZM so got to see ET again, even know I didn't watch it all that much.
  7. I think in Denver Perry Sook doesn't want to work with the union and there was a protest at KDVR/KWGN. I don't think in West Michigan there is a union for the Wood TV, WZZM, WXMI, WWMT I'm not sure on that.
  8. The French Open needs NBC more than NBC needs The French Open, but the major tennis tourneys The French Open, Wimbledon, & US Open need to be on broadcast the Wimbledon finals are tape delayed on ABC for 3PM Sat & Sun after ESPN has aired them live, and now do air some live action to close out the first week of Wimbledon on Sat what NBC use to do when they aired it. They even did that for the US Open on a Sun afternoon last year on ABC I didn't watch it thou I was watching college football plus ESPN went dark for 10 days so missed most of the US Open. Yeah, just TNT trying to keep some sports rights on the channel is all. The French Open was right to get rid of Tennis Channel as right holders was kinda surprised that NBC didn't try to get The French Open for USA or Peacock when they renewed contracts for the rights years ago.
  9. I wonder if Shari Redstone will say yes to the Skydance deal which will selloff CBS & Viacom cable networks as all that Skydance wanted was the Paramount studios only.
  10. Looks like The Jerry Springer Show repeats are ending in syndication come Sep.
  11. I thought that the government was going after Kevin for not paying his taxes as well I read that when Mission wanted to buy WADL last year. No one wants to do business with Kevin not surprised that family members aren't in good terms with Kevin as well. I think a godcaster buys WADL on the cheap.
  12. Nothing changes unless broadcast group fails or maybe say O&O wants to be bought and there are no buyers that is when the government will start moving in my opinion.
  13. Yeah, I agree should just buy NBC Sports Chi and rebrand it Chi Sports Network in my opinion. I wonder if Stadium will air some of the White Sox, Bulls, & Blackhawks come Oct.
  14. Fox really wanted WJW back when Nexstar bought Tribune, but Nexstar kept WJW and sold WITI & KCPQ for Charlotte Fox46 & MYNet TV to Nexstar for Seattle & Milwaukee, which I think Fox owned WITI before selling it in 2008 and Fox really wanted Seattle for the Seahawks being an NFC team. Just what Sinclair did in the failed merger with Tribune, but Sinclair already owned KOMO in Seattle, and they were going to have to sell because of top 4. Fox was going to get in Seattle no matter what almost did with a small TV station before Fox & Tribune renewed their contract and KCPQ remained a Fox station just took Fox a few years before they could make it an O&O. Seems that Seattle viewers don't watch KOMO or KCPQ since it became a Fox O&O.
  15. I like S.E. Supp if Battleground is cleared in West Michigan, I'll check it out will not watch it daily just every now and then.
  16. Jennifer Lyons is pretty good should help CBS News Detroit.
  17. June 1 is when NewsNation goes 24/7 news coverage.
  18. I think Byron Allen will put his name out there saying he'll buy the 60 TV stations from Sinclair that is how Byron rolls. I think it will be someone small that buys Sinclair kinda like a Standard General when they tried to buy WXMI Fox17 in the failed Tribune merger.
  19. I'm surprised that that Fever games will not be aired in West Michigan surprised that TEGNA didn't want to air it on DT3 or DT4, Sinclair's ARC WMI or Nexstar's WXSP/CW-WMI. Since Detroit doesn't have a WNBA team as they left in 2009, Caitlin Clark is popular in West Michigan why didn't they want to air those 17 games.
  20. I wouldn't be surprised if Byron Allen will say he'll buy the 60 TV stations from Sinclair since he likes to put his name out there when media is selling and for attention as well. Why didn't Byron take a pay cut sell one of his mansions or fancy cars to save the jobs at his local TV stations and The Weather Channel.
  21. Not surprised that The Fox O&Os signed it for the sister TV stations in the big markets, I thought that they would sign on for GMFB more to come in the coming weeks and I knew it be Labor Day when GMFB would start to air in syndication as that somewhat seems to be when smaller shows start to air before the bigger shows in Mid to late September.
  22. Kevin's letter is nothing but a word salad and begging Nexstar/Mission to close the deal which Nexstar will let the agreement expire at the end of June. Kevin sells it to a religious broadcaster for less than $75 Million. I could see Nexstar putting CW+ feed in Detroit if they can't get WDIV although would have to find something else for TMZ & TMZ Live I think WJBK airs both those shows in Detroit.
  23. All the best Mike Seidel in the next chapter shame that he got the ax at TWC.
  24. I thought that it be Stadium since Jerry owns Stadium that he bought the stake from Sinclair for White Sox, Bulls, & Blackhawks. I didn't think that Standard General would buy the rights for the White Sox, Bulls & Blackhawks guessing that is coming from Soo Kim.
  25. And Wood TV got rid of The Grio on DT3 for Defy last Wed.
