  1. I wrote in my original post she leaving the industry, the AJC is reporting she will now go to locally based Wellstar Healthcare.
  2. Veteran WANF reporter Rebekah Schramm has announced she is leaving the industry after 23 years at WANF and 7 more in the industry as a whole. For most of this news operation's history, throughout the numerous rebrands, she was one of the only constants. Personally, she really helped us when we first launched "Magnet Newsroom", gave us some great advice and I'm truly going to miss seeing her in the mornings. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/rebekka-schramm-ab60b67a_this-station-has-been-so-good-to-me-its-ugcPost-7235355559481257984-r2B9
  3. Correction, JD Vance joins CNN live via a FOX News backdrop
  4. Anyone fancy Amanpour, First Move, or Quest Means Business on the main schedule? Also, if I can expand a little bit on This Morning, I feel CNN needs to find a balance, hard news with a warm, welcoming feel. First, get rid of the panels, save that for "Inside Politics". Second, to address the warm and inviting part, let Kasie get loose some! Let her move around, personalize her sign on/sign off, heck, get her a couch like on the ATL set. I'm not saying she has to go full Robin but anything would be more welcoming than her current, cold, robotic tone, no fault to her, she's just going by the teleprompter! Story wise, TUNE DOWN THE POLITICS! Obviously if there is a breaking political story from overnight, then do that but if it's not breaking, viewers who are waking up early to catch the bus or drive to the big city to get to the job site don't want that, so don't give me two hours non-stop on what some politician said! In addition to the top stories and politics, make international stories part of the main news line up, and not a little "around the world in a minute" second or something. In July, the UK, a major US ally had a major election which resulted in a new party in power in a decade and how much attention CNN gave it domestically was just sad. Health stories, sports, and feel good stories are all good, and encouraged. Also, if we have to have a roundup segment, why not a local watch, short stories from CNN's partner stations from various sectors of the country. Do all of that, or even just some, and ladies and gentlemen, you'd have a decent morning newscast!
  5. If you mean what's shown throughout the ad, I think that IS the old set and the promo is acting in a way to show a "We're moving out of the old place" kind of thing. Still, very excited to see it, and if we get new graphics as well! This time of year, after Labor Day, can almost be like Christmas for us into the industry, so happy to know that we'll know at least get this new set!
  6. Very interested in seeing how they'll use the set with their graphics!
  7. Thanks so much for your kind words! Wow, that's amazing, great job with that, hope your operation is successful! We barley have a budget but I'll definitely keep that in mind! One of our past alumni actually made our current music (an update to that package coming with the new school year, hopefully I'll share it with y'all next week!) and so it is kinda special to us but we'll see how things go!
  8. ABC Australia after almost a decade, has a new look, including new graphics and they brought back their iconic theme from the 80's-90's.
  9. A bit, I watched This Morning recently and there was a panel at 5 in the morning, seriously? I just woke up, I want the headlines not some talking heads talking about the same stories that I knew when I went to bed, and I think thats the problem with the weekday This Morning, it's too stiff, too political.
  10. Probably will be no different than the third hour of GMA: "Good morning/afternoon America Day with What you need to know and Sarah and Micheal"!
  11. Hello everyone! Preparations are underway for the new school year! Staring the first episode, we're debating a new graphics package! (See attached for the new intro). Also, we're updating the set! Gone is the bulky video walls we had, in the coming weeks we will be painting some walls in our studio green screen green, allowing us to add in virtual set extensions and graphics! In addition, we'll use them to mimic actual video walls, and use them sort of like CNN News Central and the CBS Evening News, with a bit of Europe as well. The wall with those fake LED panels is the one that will be painted (with those panels being disregarded) along with one you can't see in the pictures, together, the two walls that will be painted are at a corner, the corner opposite of the desk. On the other side of the desk is the one wall not be painted that the viewer will see. The logo and stand was there last year but the college banners are new and everyone has been supportive of it, it adds a bit of depth and distinctiveness to set! Very excited for these changes to continue to unravel and hope you like them! Newsroom 24-25 Intro (FINAL).mp4
  12. Very peculiar, I don't see it here in Atlanta, haven't since about 2022 like I mentioned, but then again, WGTA is simulcasted on one of WUPA's subchannels so maybe that's it. Also, at least under NewsNet, the first thirty minutes repeated at 9:30.
  13. That newscast ended in late 2022 if I remember correctly.
  14. Good evening I'm John Dickerson, let's get things right over to First National Alert Chief Meteorologist Lonnie Quinn who is in our Virtual Weather Dome 3000 brought to you by Pfizer who is tracking First Alert's in Los Angeles, Sacramento, Fresno.......New York, and Albany, New York. What's the weather like Lonnie?
  15. Time for my actual take. Even though there seemingly wasn't a lot of love for her, I always thought Norah was fine, good even, especially during elections and breaking news, her delivery and persona just worked, and CBS really needed something, someone stable, and since she was in the seat, it might as well have continued to be her, or so I thought. I did see that this was her decision, and in that case, I understand, wanting to try something new while your still young and at the height of your career, and who knows, maybe theirs something personal in these decisions, you just can't judge right away. I also don't see why everyone is upset that they are going to rotating anchors, they've done that before when Couric, Pelley, and Glor left, it's just part of the process of finding someone new. As far as her replacement, that's really a tough one. I feel like most of the top contenders are just either too young, won't give many years of service, and or won't attract eyeballs. That being said, what's Anthony Mason doing, he seemed to be popular as intern anchor, Maurice isn't a bad option either, and I can get behind Shep Smith too. I honestly would be ok with Pelley coming back but worry it might be seemed as a bit indecisive, bringing back an old anchor. That's slightly not true with the BBC, Huw Edwards mainly anchored the News at Ten for almost two decades before his ouster, and has been replaced by Sophie Raworth (who was anchoring the Six O'clock News), but very true with other European outlets, but I feel bringing that to America so suddenly really wouldn't work, not without a pure, everything brand spanking new rebrand. Like how saying "The BBC News at Ten with Sophie Raworth" or "ARD Tagesschau with Jan Hofer" sounds wrong, just saying "The CBS Evening News" not centered around an anchor sounds wrong, but do we also want to go the route of "CBS News Tonight" "CBS News National" or just "CBS News", maybe so?
  16. Maybe it's time to bring the two anchor format nationally again?
  17. Personally, I doubt it but let's see where this goes.
  18. Don't forget the aging uninspired set that's 13, going on 14!
  19. Some better pictures!
  20. New set has debuted at 4pm, will get more pictures throughout the newscast.
  21. Looks like it, all the intros, for all hours, are using TEGNA blue, the bug is now blue, and red is only being used for Breaking News. Honestly a shame in a market dominated by blue graphics, now WANF will be the only station using red as it's colors.
  22. Taken from anchor Aisha Howard's Instagram during the cyber outage,
  23. I think what would help is if those monitors in 47 would be on during the newscast, displaying various graphics, creating sort of a control room like look.
  24. Not just the CBSEN set but the Washington newsroom looks amazing too, especially when they show the various angles of it! Honestly, now that you say it, CBS does have the best look of the big three as far as the main newscasts' go, having great graphics and a great set, not only that but using that set with many shots. WNT does not even use it's set, simply using that one OTS shot the entire time and the graphics are outdated. NN has alright graphics, not the best but better than WNT but 1A brings it down.
  25. Here's a look at the new intro and how WXIA is using the updated TEGNA graphics, interesting cut of C-Clarity being used, I honestly wonder they are getting another cut, or does anyone already know of this cut? Also, from my contacts at the station, the new set will debut tomorrow, not sure when but when the set updates debuted a few years back, they revealed it in the morning.
