Georgie56 3326 Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Here's Gallardo's POV of that incident: 7
24994J 5630 Posted December 24, 2017 Author Posted December 24, 2017 It's not sports, obviously, but somebody needs to put together a '30 for 30'-like documentary of the whole ordeal. #neverforget 1
rkolsen 1686 Posted December 25, 2017 Posted December 25, 2017 A professional. I’m sure if it were me there not only would be a studio reconstruction fee but an FCC fine as well. 4
24994J 5630 Posted December 25, 2017 Author Posted December 25, 2017 "Hey, do we have the new guy's name in the system?" "Yeah, put up the graphic." "Wait, I'm gonna make sure it's corre-" "Just put it up. It's fine."
CircleSeven 1960 Posted December 25, 2017 Posted December 25, 2017 I think this is a first time WLS has done abbreviated weekday morning newscast. The last Xmas newscast that fell on a weekday (two years ago on a Friday) went full 2hr-30m length. I remember many years ago (even as late of the mid 90s) when on major holidays like this, they didn't have a morning broadcast at all. But would do a local news cut-in from the newsroom @ :25/:55 on the 6am hour during World News This Morning. Phil was back on this AM, with his red blazer. That tradition continues.

Okay, so I'm not losing it. As for the blazer, I love that he always wears it, but that gold turtleneck needs to be burned in the video fireplace they sat in front of at the end of the show. 3
ns8401 957 Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 Apparently Dionne Miller has signed a new multi-year contract. 2

You should see the number of screw up at the mouse in the #2 market. I'm a follower and contributor, already. As for the graphic, Mark Rivera is correct, but they spelled Diane Pathieu wrong. 1
Georgie56 3326 Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 I've noticed neither ABC7 nor WGN have run the Luna Carpet closed captioning billboard at the end of newscasts lately.
Jase 1068 Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 Apparently Dionne Miller has signed a new multi-year contract. This is a no-brainer. No reason not to keep her.
Georgie56 3326 Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 Are these laws for journalists or... 2
24994J 5630 Posted December 31, 2017 Author Posted December 31, 2017 There are a handful of reporters that don't have Twitter accounts, so it's likely just personal. Her bio is on the website with a Facebook link only. I wouldn't think too much into it, especially with her highest-profile gig of the year later tonight.

WeatherandTraffic 54 Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 Everybody is basically drunk on Countdown Chicago. This programs needs to end and put Dick Clark's New years rockin eve back on. 6
ns8401 957 Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 Everybody is basically drunk on Countdown Chicago. This programs needs to end and put Dick Clark's New years rockin eve back on. If the viewers are drunk too then do they notice the difference? 3
24994J 5630 Posted January 1, 2018 Author Posted January 1, 2018 I can't imagine that this was an official show hashtag, but #GinAndJanet is trending tonight. 5
Georgie56 3326 Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 It's basically a third weekend morning newscast today. Rivera, Pathieu, McGinnis, and Byrne are anchoring the first morning show of 2018 today. 1
24994J 5630 Posted January 2, 2018 Author Posted January 2, 2018 Ratings are in. 'Countdown Chicago' was up 30-some percent, while (whatever NBC 5 aired) lost half its viewers from last year. http://www.robertfeder.com/2018/01/02/abc-7-rings-new-year-top-ratings/
24994J 5630 Posted January 5, 2018 Author Posted January 5, 2018 They're starting to post some Jerry clips for his final 2 weeks, including this piece about who helped him get his foot in the door of his first on-air job.
Spring Rubber 716 Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 Phil Schwarz on a Friday night? What's the world coming to? 5
24994J 5630 Posted January 6, 2018 Author Posted January 6, 2018 Phil Schwarz on a Friday night? What's the world coming to? He was off since at least the middle of last week, and Cheryl's been hinting that she's getting run down by some illness (Tracy has the flu, and Jerry might be under the weather, too), so they probably asked him to do a few shows tonight to relieve her a little. 1

Yeah, I could tell Cheryl caught something because her voice was slightly lower during her weathercast at 4:30. 2
