MonkeyFighter 15 Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I noticed that KBAK/KBFX has added a bunch of clutter to their graphics on all newscasts. Are other Sinclair stations doing this?
tyrannical bastard 4084 Posted January 12, 2016 Author Posted January 12, 2016 It looks like the standard issue ticker mess.....glorified to fill a 16x9 screen.
CircleSeven 1963 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Sister station to the north KMPH, is using the "Curves" gfx package.

KOKH has a similar version of that ticker (although formatted for the 4:3 safe area) for its weekday morning newscast.
MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie 986 Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 WWMT is now 100% "Sinclair-ized" as they have FINALLY switched to the new Sinclair website layout -- much better than the POS Freedom Broadcasting layout they had
wkytdirector 8 Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 A little birdie tells me that WDKY will be launching the new look tonight at 10. It's long overdue, but it's finally here! Edit- just saw jtb_ky's post above. Sorry for the double post!
LexTVandRadio 418 Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 No worries, glad to see it happening. Hopefully Sinclair did a good job for WDKY.
TheRolyPoly 2660 Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 I have a feeling that the music/graphics will be from "Curves" and not form "Glass," which is the package I like best from Sinclair.

CircleSeven 1963 Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 They need to fix that L3 super so it can be aligned with the bug. That's extremely tacky.
LexTVandRadio 418 Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 Yeah I hope they fix that. Heard they were having some problems with the compatibility with WKYT's graphics.
MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie 986 Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 The weather graphics are completely different... Don't like that
LexTVandRadio 418 Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 The weather graphics are completely different... Don't like that Yeah, it's never had the "sinclair" look. The 7 day is almost there.
atlnews2 600 Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Is it common for stations using the new graphics to have 2 "LIVE" graphics on the screen ? WTVC seems to do this http://newschannel9.com/news/local/icy-roads-cause-accidents-in-mcminn-county
ChesapeakeTV 312 Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Hmm...they may not be staying with Sinclair long, but it seems that Curves sneaked in a few months ago at WLUC for Friday Night Fever. It doesn't seem to have replaced Advantage anywhere else.
Viper550 294 Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Yeah, even I can tell it seems a bit off-model. Especially the animations too (personally, I think they'd look a lot better if they actually animated just like WKYT's
TheRolyPoly 2660 Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 WGXA.TV is under the new website format, but I believe they are still broadcasting local news in 4:3 SD.
ATL46 11 Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 WGXA.TV is under the new website format, but I believe they are still broadcasting local news in 4:3 SD. Been like that for close to 2 months now, and yes they are still in 4:3 SD
Viper550 294 Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 So as I mentioned in chat, I speculate the Syracuse (CNY Central) cluster might be next at some point, because they had an ad on the boards during the AHL All-Star Game that had new logos that seemed similar to ones other Sinclair stations had been switching to when they got Sinclair-ified
Leavellebrett 85 Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 According to their Facebook page, WJAC has changed to the new graphics. Not sure about the music. I'm going to watch tonight. Also not sure about WWCP.
Sendir 195 Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 KUTV is Sinclair and yet they just debuted this graphics package with the Sinclair music. Did someone finally stand up for the ugly graphics package? Their lower thirds are not the same as all Sinclair stations:

Did someone finally stand up for the ugly graphics package? Their lower thirds are not the same as all Sinclair stations: Wow, those look really good. Hard to believe they're on a Sinclair station. I guess since KUTV has been one of the best performing stations in the entire Sinclair station group, I guess they could get away with stuff like this.
