channel2 982 Posted November 8, 2017 Posted November 8, 2017 Is it me, or does it does it sound a bit like Strive? Not saying there's a connection. The morning themes sound like they want to be A New Wish... In other words, Beyond is the new FOX O&O theme. The OSI has served well for 10 years but its now time for the FOX group to get a new theme. It was always junky and I'm glad it's going away. 2
DetroitTVNews 66 Posted November 8, 2017 Posted November 8, 2017 So far, WJBK is still using the old theme as of right now. Not to mention that they're still using opens from 2012 and they've been using Chapin for VOs since like the late 90's or so.
Info Junkie 1286 Posted November 8, 2017 Posted November 8, 2017 WNYW’s been using the same open and VO since 2012...
Big Country News 435 Posted November 8, 2017 Posted November 8, 2017 Also, is it me or does this also scream Arnold? That's actually production music from audiojungle. 1
WestleyWolf 122 Posted November 8, 2017 Posted November 8, 2017 nothing from KTTV yet. they aren't going to get morning cuts of beyond due to the Famous Good Day Package from Gari.
mardek1995 200 Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 In other words, Beyond is the new FOX O&O theme. The OSI has served well for 10 years but its now time for the FOX group to get a new theme.Yeah. It's already been 10 years. They should get a new theme. Now WAGA Switched to Beyond. the next very likely to get it is WJZY, WFLD, WTXF, KDFW, WNYW, WJBK.I wouldn't be surprised that KDFW is next to switch to Beyond seeing as how Stephen Arnold Music is headquartered locally.
ABC 7 Denver 1729 Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 Is it me, or does it does it sound a bit like Strive? Not saying there's a connection. Oh my god! Yes there is a connection. You have a good ear. I can only say more privately, if you want to PM me to know more.
ABC 7 Denver 1729 Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 The morning themes sound like they want to be A New Wish... It was always junky and I'm glad it's going away. A New Wish is made up of recycled NBC Tower cuts that never made the end package. 1
speed053 38 Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 I'm still waiting for WFLD to pick up the new Fox O&O news music package. 1
24994J 5629 Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 I'm still waiting for WFLD to pick up the new Fox O&O news music package. I'm still waiting for WFLD to use the OSI theme properly. 1
Georgie56 3326 Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 I'm still waiting for WFLD to use the OSI theme properly. Hey, I kinda like the higher-pitched and sped up OSI cuts 32 uses.
WestleyWolf 122 Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 Hey, I kinda like the higher-pitched and sped up OSI cuts 32 uses. actually they open with a Production Music track "Conquer" from Firstcom.
MikePulse 319 Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 Full sample up on the NMSA. Needless to say, this is a good sound. (And yes, confirmed that KSAZ was leading the charge)
ZachL 1 Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 Just heard this music being used in a promo for tomorrow morning's Good Day Tampa Bay on WTVT. I wonder if it'll debut there tomorrow? Other than that, it's still been the music from OSI. 1
ZachL 1 Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 WTVT has debuted the new music package as of 5pm today. Chris Corley (I think) has replaced Dick Ervasti. And gone is the Impact chime from the 7-Day forecast that has been around for 20+ years.

TexasTVNews 1378 Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 I bet when KDFW get this music, they'll dump that 7-day forecast chime from Outlaw News. I bet KDFW will use the new theme for Good Day DFW, but FOX O&O (OSI Music) to continue on the evenings. 1

And gone is the Impact chime from the 7-Day forecast that has been around for 20+ years. Wait, really?! I was in Bradenton last week and it not only had the FOX O&O theme but also the Impact chimes. I was so happy to hear them! I even mentioned it in the Chatroom while I was in Bradenton last week. 2
MyNewsArchive 197 Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Now WAGA Switched to Beyond. the next very likely to get it is WJZY, WFLD, WTXF, KDFW, WNYW, WJBK. Don't forget about KTVU FOX 2 in San Francisco. Will they get the new theme soon? 2
Rusty Muck 4403 Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 It was always junky and I'm glad it's going away. The OSI theme had much better staying power than the sorry Gannett Rampage theme, which was outdated as soon as it was implemented. 2
C Block 1566 Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 The best Fox affiliate music has always been the X and X2. It's too bad more stations didn't pick up the X2. 5
Jess 1116 Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 The best Fox affiliate music has always been the X and X2. It's too bad more stations didn't pick up the X2. Same. The X2 package brilliantly used the best part of the 20th Century Fox fanfare. Though there are certain non-Fox specific themes that worked great on Fox affiliates. Stephen Arnold's News Edge, for one. 3
channel2 982 Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 X-2 is quite good, but so are the 2000s WNYW packages by Andy Zulla, and Stephen Arnold's really-underused Fusion and Fox '95. NewsEdge was also excellent. The Rampage Gannett pack is an odd spiritual update to Image News with mixed results. 3
