I think Comcast/NBC is doing this in large part because of the potential fallout we're likely to see with Bally Sports' looming bankruptcy. They smell blood in the water and want in.

NBC renewed rights with breeders cup.  Additional coverage on USA.   I don't understand why they would make additional sports deals & put it on USA when the network will be spun off later this year.
