My best wishes to longtime WXIX anchor Rob Williams who's been there for 30 years and is a staple of Tri-State television.

This morning, he announced that he has prostate cancer.

KOIN has started to air a series of reports looking back at Jeff Gianola's career before he retires around Thanksgiving.

This report from days ago looks back at Jeff's 15-year time at KATU.

This includes anchoring with Julie Emery, working with Bill O'Reilly for a time, and even doing the weather at one point before switching totally to news in 1986.

WKBW is not known for much wins, if any at all.

However, they do have this small win here... a team together for 10 years. For Katie Morse and Ed Drantch, its been that way on Good Morning Buffalo for the last decade.

This is from the Buffalo Broadcasters Association on FB:

Longtime KDFW morning meteorologist Evan Andrews is retiring on October 10th.

Their chief meteorologist Dan Henry has announced (possibly prematurely) that weekend meteorologist Ali Turiano will take over for Evan. I figured they’d go with Kylie 🤷

To the probable relief of the anchors who have had to pull exhausting overtime since Michelle McCormack got herself fired for a DUI (and a coincidental re-retirement of Kris Schuller earlier), WFRV in Green Bay has hired Stacy Engebretson to become their new evening co-anchor. She had been on WGBA for a long time before moving to a mostly off-air role as an assistant ND and community anchor for WBAY.

Just in time too, because Tom Zalaski looks and sounds physically exhausted from having to solo anchor for months upon months, and Chelly Boutott can finally return to mornings.

It too says in the article that she'll be anchoring at 5:00, 6:00, and 6:30 plus a new half-hour program exclusively for WFRV+.

WDSU Chief Meteorologist Devin Lucie is on leave after a weekend domestic violence incident.

Wow. Barely a month (8/20) after they “officially” announced he’d been given the job. What in the world are they going to do now? WWL, WGNO and Fox 8 (especially) all aired the story. Fox 8 also plastered it on Facebook at least 4 times today. The local paper picked it up. I don’t think he can come back from this. They’re going to have to move on. Derek did the evening weather tonight. Don’t see him getting it permanently tho. Soooooo … a newcomer? Margaret has been doing political endorsements for Helena Moreno, so she can’t really come back to temporarily fill in … at least until after the election, if she even wants to. Damon left after they hosed him. WDSU is in a pickle.

If they want to pull from a competitor, could Shelby Latino be a worthwhile Chief Meteorologist?

If WDSU were to do the right thing, it would bring back Damon Singleton to be their next chief.

Any chance David Bernard would come back to New Orleans after leaving WVUE?  It seems like he was done with TV when he left.

And as much as I would love to see Bob Breck back on TV, he's been active as a pitchman and is probably done with TV as well...

WXIX has poached Stephanie Roberts from WWSB to be their new chief meteorologist.

Technically "moved" since both WXIX and WWSB are both Gray stations.  Also a promotion since she will be a chief at a full-market station since WWSB is only oriented to the Sarasota area of Tampa-St. Pete....

a little more insight on what will happen with Janice Yu since she left eyewitness news earlier this year. Per her Instagram she said she's leaving the news business

Spectrum News is no longer exclusively on Spectrum... in certain markets.

Its expanding its reach to Xfinity (Comcast) in select markets, including for NY1 in Northern New Jersey and Western Connecticut, BN9 for Tampa Bay and News 13 for Central Florida.

It has also been in California as well since the L.A. wildfires from January, and now subfeeds are being launched for the Bay Area and Sacramento.

But do Xfinity customers get all 50+ "localized" versions like Spectrum's own customers do?  😏

It'll probably either through their existing Spectrum News app (which is already on Xumo boxes and TVs by default) or they'll make them available through the X1 lineup and authenticated in that manner, with phones and tablets getting the 'log in through Xfinity' option)..
