I think we're being duped by this because I saw an intro for one of Indiana News Now (the new combined WFFT/WTHI/WLFI effort)'s weekend newscasts... and they were using a TWC meteorologist from Atlanta, complete with the StormTeam logo but also with TWC graphics.

I'm starting to suspect that Allen will *lowkey* move forward with these plans but doing so without any fanfare.

I warned y'all a month ago. I knew we were being duped. Don't be surprised if more stations do this because Allen was planning to do this all along.

I wonder if Flint will be the next to get the weather from The Weather Channel. Yup, was always Byron Allen's plan to do it he didn't care that he'd get flack for this move all in the name to cut cost. But that has always been the Byron Allen way being cheap.

From TWC's standpoint, are the mets who are doing the local hits the same mets that are used on the national network, or are they using a different bunch?

I wasn't fooled and here's proof. Here's TWC's Ray Stagich for WTHI.

The Allen TWC plan is in effect.

The TWC forecast on WEVV doesn’t even have Evansville in the right county. They moved Evansville from Vanderburgh Co. to Spencer Co. These two counties don’t even border each other.

Not surprised.

The Allen Wisconsin network is having a meltdown; WAOW has been stuck having to cover WKOW's newscasts since yesterday (and having to present their news that's completely irrelevant to Madison to pad out shows), along with having to do their statecasts in the morning. At this point, you might as well consider Madison, La Crosse/Eau Claire and Wausau two-operation news markets because it seems like Byron doesn't even care about having a proper third news operation (and Rockford will be inevitably hubbed out soon enough).

Byron has renewed all nine of his celebrity court shows (I remind you that none of the shows are litigating real cases, but CA court transcripts with actors), which is probably going over well in the AMG station Slack or Teams 🙃.

Nine?!?

There are basic cable networks with less original programming than that.

Heck, how do they even decide which show gets a particular case?

It wouldn't surprise me if the same cases are on different shows, with the same actors, or maybe that's how they make them different.

I saw this in an FB group today...

I wonder if these are outright sales of the facilities to other parties, or simply selling the building to a new owner through a sale/leaseback deal...
Either way, it's going to bite them somehow in the future.  When the rent goes up, then that's a big problem.

Last week's Madison meltdown had a positive effect in Allen ending their hubbing experiment. Outside the 11am and 4pm shows, the Wisconsin stations now originate their own newscasts, but the audience reaction to it in a negative manner certainly didn't help with the advertisers.

Before the piecemeal sale to operators who aren't buying speculation posts start, repeat after me: Byron Allen is going to want to sell to a single operator, structure it as a merger, and the buyer will divest assets they can't retain to minimize his tax costs and maximize the money made on the sale.

They're all Gray's to lose. KVOA can be a subchannel of KOLD, WJRT can be a subchannel of WNEM and the OW stations can be rumps of WSAW and WMTV. It's a perfect test case for the NAB begging for full dereg, especially with how much Byron completely destroyed the viability of each and every one of those stations.

On the other hand, unlikely since they own the FOX affiliate there, but it'd be kinda cool if the Big 3 network stations in Tucson are owned by the same owner of the Big 3 stations upstate in Phoenix with Gray/CBS, Scripps/ABC, & TEGNA/NBC.

Tegna is a non-factor in Tucson as KMSB-KTTU are fully shelled out to Gray. They wouldn't waste money on an unfixable station like KVOA.

Think about it. Who else would want KVOA or any of the other Allen stations? Coastal? Marquee? NP&G? Gray is IMO the prohibitive favorite and the only buyer who would continue to operate the stations with any semblance of locality.

Gray just got their calls for the former WYOW allocation in WNWE, so it's very much possible all of the moves of the last seven years around Wausau will lead to a flat circle and them becoming an ABC affiliate again as a new license, though with it as a sub in Wausau proper.

As for WJRT, I could see Sinclair putting WSMH in the Rincon scrapheap and trying to buy them, though honestly a Weigel purchase with WJRT carrying most of their services as subs isn't far-fetched either as they have a good ABC relationship with WBND.

For that matter, is there an off chance of Weigel buying the chain in general.

IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME.

The sooner it is off Allen's hands, the better.

This means all of Allen's dumb moves will be reversed immediately. Stations like WJRT, KVOA, and WTHI must be rejoicing at this news.

As I have said many of times Byron Cheap Skate Allen had no business to buy TV stations and should've just stayed in his lane with his cheap syndication dreck, he was always a Wannabe Media Mogle, and his empire is about to crash. I'm sure those that work for Allen Media at the local level are happy their being sold sometime soon.
