Nexstar's WXIN debuted a new graphics package at 4PM.. Gotta say it looks quite spiffy.  Hope this rolls out to more of their Fox stations... Here's a few snippits (Most are the weather)... There's a video on YouTube, but it's from a channel that is banned on here... Also, CBS4 has the new weather graphics, but still has the Nexstar CBS graphics

Was gonna bring up the YT video, but I'll mention it here, if you see the graphics open, anyone who isn't like us into this kinda stuff, you'd think these would be the kinda graphics for a newscast from a FOX O&O especially with the way the FOX logo is shown on screen towards the end of the titles. Also, WXIN kinda being a bit of a copycat with the time/temp/station bug graphics to TEGNA which has a station there in WTHR (NBC).

Here are a couple of the opens:

…and I get what @NYCshorty said, the graphics and open style would fit as a Fox O&O package, as components of it blend better with the network’s current graphics style than the actual O&O package does.

(sarcastic) Wait, did Gray buy WXIN? Because those opens and supers are Gray One wearing a bad disguise. (end sarcasm)

The Nexstar election supers not matching the height or placement of the bug is just sloppy and, in theory, preventable.

I look forward to KSWB getting them, they are in dire need of graphics overhaul. Unfortunately, I feel like they will be waiting until their new facilities are done.

A little off topic, but I have noticed some tweaks to the KUSI graphics since they moved into the KSWB building, like the adoption of the ticker and L3 animations.

These would look great for WDAF in Kansas City as well.. The Tribune graphics just don't work....

Ironically, prior forms of this package predated GrayOne, so Gray created GrayOne after Nexstar's use of it.

I'd say it would look good on WJW, but with WOIO and WUAB going GrayOne one day....

Nexstar needs some new packages for their stations.  The WDCW one is awful and the others are starting to show their age...

"Central Indiana's first source for news"... is this true, or just what they say?  Are Fox stations often the #1 news in an area?  I find that to be an interesting claim.

It's ultimately just a slogan. Many last place stations will claim they're the "first source" or "most trusted source" or whatever.

According to next TV Fox 59 is the first place in Indianapolis. It is unusual for a Fox station to be #1,  but looking at Miami, WSVN was market leader for years.

A lot of Fox stations are #1 in their markets… what are you talking about?

If you scroll up you would have read the post (that I just tagged below) which questioned if it is typical for Fox stations to be #1 in their markets.

A wide assumption is that ABC NBC and CBS stations are often (not always) the top three in their markets.

I basically responded to the poster by saying though it goes against conventional assumptions, there are examples such as in Miami where the Fox station is number one. 🤷‍♂️

There are several, and most of them are former CBS affiliates who switched to Fox during the 90's big affiliation swaps.
