Wow! the last set was fantastic in its own right. So this new creation must be a glorious godsend (exaggerating, yes, but still). I really can't wait to see it in action (pun intended).

Interesting it's also the youngest of their big market sets dating to 2017 except the WABC special case....KGO, WLS, KTRK, KABC were in the 2015-16 range I think

Wonder what prompted them to go earlier other than being a test for what WABC implements in Hudson Square. Maybe post Gardner prompting some more retooling.

I only caught a glimpse of the news this morning and was wondering why Chris Sowers was in the weather office and not in front of the green screen. I guess this explains it. Can't wait to see how the new (or "made over") set looks.

They are back in the studio this morning.

“A” studio but not “the” studio. 😉 Looks like, as was the case last time, they took a few days to relocate a piece of the set over to the second studio across the hall. That time, they had that “kiddie table” set in the main studio that they used while moving a chunk of the main set, this time they just used the newsroom while that happened.

Fixed a typo and unclear language about this change vs the previous change.

Interesting that showed the entire temp set in the bumper.

They did with the old one too. They had no qualms about doing wide shots.

Set debuted at noon yesterday.  I didn't realize their studio was on the smaller side....

Nice set, but all of the screens seem washed out.

Looks nice....but also....it doesn't look all that different from what it replaced. I agree with the comments about the home base looking a little washed out. Hopefully they can fix that.

I’m not seeing any striking resemblance in overall look between what they had and what they unveiled a few days ago.

One could argue that there’s a similar layout between the two sets (video wall / home base / weather center).

This (see below) is a good example of that…

Old

Had they made some tweaks to the previous set, they could have extended its life a bit longer. This new set is a downgrade, imo. Plus, it’s poorly lit.

In some ways this set feels a bit retro with all the “bold” colors. Like most of these changes, I think it will be just fine after a while…

I've noticed there's a heavy reliance on seamless LED paneling throughout the renovated studio. It's like someone saw what Sinclair did with WJLA and said, "Eh. We can do it way better."

I do like the faux windows in the background that make it look like they're in a fancy skyscraper somewhere.

Serious upgrade. There’s only so many elements and so many shapes to a studio. Of course if one stretches the point there will be “resemblances.” But it’s clearly distinct. And looks great.

6abc posted an in depth look at the new studio. Apparently, the anchors desk has the ability to spin around.

At first, I was not impressed with the new set, I thought it was smaller and more cramped than the previous set.  I'm glad tho that 6abc made this video and proved me wrong on my thoughts.  It is bigger than the old studio and indeed it is much better than the previous.

The video really highlights things. It was a massive endeavor. However, I still think the lighting is off and everything looks washed out.
