nathannah 2792 Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 Never too early to start and we have a big one to start the thread out with...Gray is picking up 15 Braves broadcasts and ten spring training games throughout their territory for next year, and yes, good ol' channel 17 (or some games, 17.2) is the flagship as God intended. 1
NYAZSporty 196 Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 (edited) The old WTBS now Peachtree TV, which if I'm not mistaken north of the border in Canada, is still being shown like it was back in the old SuperStation days getting similar treatment to WPIX, WGN, & KTLA. The Rangers will also be launching a new RSN (funny saying that considering it's the initials) called Rangers Sports Network. Wonder if, considering they're using the same streaming platform as the Mavericks & Stars, if in the future, games of those teams will air there as well, I think that'd be a move they'd consider to fill air time in the Winter months. Select games will air on KDAF (CW/Dallas-Ft. Worth). NYAZSporty 196 Posted February 17, 2025 Posted February 17, 2025 Nothing set in stone yet, but it appears the Arizona Diamondbacks are going to have an OTA package of some form for the upcoming season according to their President & CEO. Certainly the Phoenix market has many options including the 2 indy stations KTVK & KASW, even the MyNetwork affiliate KUTP is viable. 1 1
NYAZSporty 196 Posted February 18, 2025 Posted February 18, 2025 (edited) SNY will be offering a DTC package in the Mets broadcast territory for the upcoming baseball season & will stream full-time on the MLB app, ditching its own app in the process. It'll go for $24.99/mo, $124.99/season, or $149.99/year. https://www.mlb.com/live-stream-games/subscribe/sny?partnerId=redirect-nym-snymets Edited February 18, 2025 by NYAZSporty 1

JTT 133 Posted February 21, 2025 Posted February 21, 2025 Will another network step in to get this part of the deal from ESPN? NBC, perhaps? Sunday Night Baseball, Football, & Basketball. Sports programming year around. 1

I mean, if they show more than just football on Sundays year round, then might as well call it the obvious. EDIT: Don't forget also during the Olympic years where there'll be coverage there too on Sundays. Edited February 21, 2025 by TheRolyPoly 3

With the NBA Playoffs happening April through June and Sunday Night Football starting in September, I don't think NBC would be a great partner if MLB wants their games to be carried on the mothership. 1 1
Georgie56 3661 Posted February 21, 2025 Posted February 21, 2025 If the ESPN package stays on linear, Fox would be the most likely candidate. They are MLB’s biggest media partner by far. 1 1

nickp 393 Posted February 21, 2025 Posted February 21, 2025 ESPN gonna broadcast on Sunday night in the Summer? 1
Megatron81 343 Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 It will be interesting where the Sunday Night Baseball package goes to come 2026, I think maybe FS1 if FOX Sports takes the package, maybe The CW will bid on it, streaming Netflix, Amazon Prime Video etc. I'm surprised that ESPN didn't ask for a discount a few years ago when they decided not to air as many MLB games that would've been the right time for them to do it in my opinion. 1
NYAZSporty 196 Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 White Sox scorebug now that they're on the Chicago Sports Network. 2
Viper550 318 Posted March 1, 2025 Posted March 1, 2025 (edited) Gray's Braves Spring Training games have their own graphics that aren't too bad. It's serviceable with that "NFL preseason"/late-2000s Raycom Sports vibe. Even though they are going to be produced by FDSN instead, you begin to wonder if the regular season games may keep these, since they went as far as even making a "Braves on Gray" branding for them. A3N 1003 Posted March 1, 2025 Posted March 1, 2025 There's a lot of little hints of the Ballys/FanDuel gfx package. I'm curious to know if these will be the new FDSN package. Makes no sense in creating a new package for Gray... plus they won't even be producing the telecasts . 1 1
Georgie56 3661 Posted March 3, 2025 Posted March 3, 2025 Washington Nationals seem like they’ll be done with MASN after this season. 1
Georgie56 3661 Posted March 6, 2025 Posted March 6, 2025 (edited) The Cardinals will return to OTA TV for the first time since 2010. KMOV and Matrix Midwest will air ten games, with them also airing on FDSN Midwest. Edited March 6, 2025 by Georgie56 1
A3N 1003 Posted March 9, 2025 Posted March 9, 2025 Looks like MLB is producing the Seattle Mariner's telecasts on Root Sports. Standard MLB Local graphics package, but ROOT Sports substituted for the MLB logo. 1
Glimmer 340 Posted March 11, 2025 Posted March 11, 2025 Brewers will have 10 games air on WITI (as well as several other stations in WI) this year 3 1

Now every commercial station in the market (not counting WVCY of course) has at least had one year airing games locally since the team came to town in 1970. Edited March 11, 2025 by nathannah 1 2

NYAZSporty 196 Posted March 24, 2025 Posted March 24, 2025 (edited) This season will be the last for Bob Carpenter as the TV voice of the Washington Nationals & also the end, in all likelihood, of a great sports broadcasting career. He was the first host of ESPN's College Gameday & did other stuff for them & also was a voice for the St. Louis Cardinals. https://www.masnsports.com/blog/carpenter-reveals-this-will-be-final-season-as-nats-lead-announcer Edited March 24, 2025 by NYAZSporty 1
