Viper550 318 Posted September 23, 2025 Posted September 23, 2025 (edited) Preseason has begun and we already got some scorebug changes here and there on the NHL front: Victory+ has updated graphics on Dallas Stars games The newly-rechristened Utah Mammoth dropped the MLB Network graphics for a custom look, and I actually like it. Kinda reminds me of MSG's (which, I must also add, finally added a shots on goal counter this year too), with the clock/period area being shaped like the state itself as a nice touch Edited September 25, 2025 by Viper550

nathannah 2792 Posted October 10, 2025 Posted October 10, 2025 (edited) MSG has introduced a nicely minimalistic and left-justified design for their NBA package, including a simple and sleek bug (though I suspect by opening night that shot clock will get a bit bigger). Apologies for the 'direct from monitor' image because of DRM. And then from the next morning, we have a game from China on NBA TV, which now under league control has introduced this interesting package which feels a bit odd and 2015-like? Viper550 318 Posted October 11, 2025 Author Posted October 11, 2025 TSN updated their scoreboard, adopting some visual elements from the CFL scoreboard they debuted this season (which went to a centered box akin to NBC and ESPN's CFB graphics). SEG Media also adopted the new Mammoth graphics for Utah Jazz games too, with a similar design but a white/silver pod for the clock/quarter rather than black.
Georgie56 3661 Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 WPLG will show 12 Miami Heat games and 12 Sioux Falls Skyforce (Heat G-League team) games this season.
FiveNews 482 Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 Not as iconic as Roundball Rock (yet), but here is the theme for NBA on Amazon Prime. I really like it. 1

This now means that all major pro sports teams in Miami (sans Inter Miami) can now be seen on brodcast OTA television, even if limited. NBA: Miami Heat on WPLG (select games; via FDSN Florida/Sun) MLB: Miami Marlins on WBFS (select games; via FDSN Florida/Sun) NHL: Florida Panthers on WSFL (all non-national games; via Scripps Sports) NFL: Miami Dolphins via the national networks.

nathannah 2792 Posted October 22, 2025 Posted October 22, 2025 The league feels like an event again, they really got this right so much. ESPN has always felt RSN-equivalent in production and 720p does not do the product justice; finally having a basketball broadcaster in 1080i/p, it's always felt so different than the former. And they managed to get an overtime, so it'll be a dream launch night for them. 3
Georgie56 3661 Posted October 22, 2025 Posted October 22, 2025 (edited) Have to say, having NBC back in the fold has made the NBA more engaging to watch; they’re clearly using the SNF/NFL playbook for their coverage. Their coverage tonight has outclassed anything ESPN/ABC did in the last two decades. The league needed this in the worst way. It’s a shame Disney paid enough to keep the Finals exclusively on ABC. I was hoping to see them and NBC alternate them yearly. But at least we’ll finally have Inside the NBA at the Finals, something NBA fans have been wanting for years now. Georgie56 3661 Posted October 22, 2025 Posted October 22, 2025 As for Inside the NBA, as promised, nothing has changed about the show except for ESPN logos replacing the TNT logos. 3

nathannah 2792 Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 From last night, Amazon previewed their new permanent sports set (mainly for NBA coverage) during TNF; 1
Viper550 318 Posted October 27, 2025 Author Posted October 27, 2025 (edited) The New Orleans Pelicans have also dropped the stock (W)NBA scorebug in favor of a new one: this, specifically, is a new standard graphics package for Gray's sports broadcasts, which originally debuted during their Atlanta Braves spring training package from earlier this year. It's not bad and feels like an evolution of one of the old Raycom Sports packages from back in the day. Edited October 27, 2025 by Viper550 1
Megatron81 343 Posted October 27, 2025 Posted October 27, 2025 Great to see the NBA back on NBC yeah, I also wish that they got the NBA finals every other year and not just ABC.
NYTV 138 Posted October 29, 2025 Posted October 29, 2025 Bob Costas with the introduction of Knicks/Bucks and Warriors/Clippers for “Coast 2 Coast Tuesday” https://x.com/nbaonnbc/status/1983305692854595847?s=46 1
hfiles 106 Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Tonight's Bruins-Panthers game ran long, AEW was on TBS, and College Basketball was on TruTV, so when the late NHL game started where did they turn? Yes, that's right. They turned to HLN, which erroneously showed the "CNN on HLN LIVE" bug and at one point after a commercial break aired the wrong game. I think you're technically watching "NHL on TNT Sports on CNN on HLN." 1

TheRolyPoly 3510 Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Well, once the current NBA and NHL seasons go away, so will FDSN. By mid-April 2026, FDSN will cease to exist, and a good chunk of RSNs as a result will be gone. All left are NBC's RSNs and several indies, including MASN and CHSN. https://www.thestreet.com/entertainment/fanduel-sports-network-is-shutting-down-leaving-fans-scrambling

You have to wonder what the future holds for the NBC RSNs and the independents. I know a few of them, including SportsNet Pittsburgh, NESN, and Space City Home Network, have DTC apps, which are pretty pricey.
Georgie56 3661 Posted February 26 Posted February 26 NBA on NBC is having a reunion broadcast with Bob Costas, Doug Collins, Mike Fratello, Jim Gray, Hannah Storm, Isiah Thomas and P.J. Carlesimo on March 3rd.
