So I saw that post on Facebook, of him at the basketball game with his laptop open to models. I took it to mean he was doing it "for fun" not necessarily working. But, I also don't think it's unreasonable to expect one of the station's main meteorologists to be at the station working on a forecast the day before a Nor'easter, and if he had already commited to the game, the station was gracious to let him "work from home" on the forecast. People need to lighten up!1 point

Well, to bump this thread one last time with the fate of the Glendive market.... Montana PBS consummated the sale of KXGN and KYUS on October 22nd. So the Glendive market still exists, it just doesn't have any commercial stations inside of it anymore. YouTubeTV has replaced KXGN with KTVQ as the CBS affiliate of record for Glendive customers.1 point

Apparently John Bolaris and Adam Joseph have been sparring on X, this weekend being round 2. Looks like Cecily tried to play peacemaker on round 1. Got to be honest, lost a lot of respect for John Bolaris over the years, but Adam has been coming off as a pompous @$$ lately on social media, so I am kind of glad somebody put him in his place.1 point

Slim chance but it would be cool to see Craig Treadway get picked up.. I still think it should go to Dan Bowens. Just my opinion. Move Dane with Rosanna and put Craig on early1 point

WGN is trying out potential new shows for the WGN+ streaming service. The trailer for it is right here:1 point

So are TEGNA's new graphics. But they are super super cheap. We'll eventually get to power point slides, when all creative departments are laid off.1 point

I can't take that open seriously, I don't know how to say it but it's... offensively bland.1 point

Will it ever be public knowledge what NBC's ratings were this morning with the US/CAN Gold Medal hockey game? Easily has to be a Sunday morning record.1 point

Swiss has been disappearing from anything NBC Sports-related. Though Barlow looks less jarring than what Golf Channel replaced it with. Meanwhile, as with last season, the Mariners have a Spring Training-specific scoreboard (but will undoubtedly be using the MLBN one later). This one is giving me real "NFL preseason" vibes and, honestly, with some polish, it could probably work as a full-time one.1 point

Spring training games are underway and we've got one new score bug change and a few minor tweaks thus far. No surprise after they debuted a new graphics package for the Rockets in the fall, but Space City Home Network has shuffled off the last of AT&T SportsNet's mortal coil and debuted a slick-looking bottom right bug. Minor tweaks I can see thus far. With ABS ball-strike challenges now in place, MLB's broadcasts may be testing out adding two lights to the left side of the bug for that. So far, I've only seen this on the Nats broadcast. Haven't seen it on any other MLB broadcasts yet. Even more minor tweak is that SNY has switched their main typeface from what I think was Frank (that NBC used to love so much) to the more generic (and free) Barlow. From what I've seen so far, NESN, SportsNet Pittsburgh, MASN, YES (thank god), and Sportsnet are all the same. Yet to have seen CHSN, the NBCS channels, Braves on Gray, SNLA, or any of the new national partners. Will be interesting to see if the NBC Sports RSNs (PHI, SF, ATH) stay the same and NBC debuts a new package for the network and Peacock or just adopts what the regionals have. Except for the gradient work, SNLA has had the same graphics package since it debuted 12 years ago, and I can't imagine CHSN would radically change their bug after one year on the air.1 point

Didn’t he test for a talk show a few years ago? Wasn’t he a part of The Talk when it was cancelled? He has a pattern of failed talk shows and this clearly has FAILURE written all over it. They need to find someone who can balance news and entertainment to pair with Rosanna and do a test run for a national show with.1 point

With a major storm (12+ inches) now predicted through Monday morning and early afternoon, he may not even be at the WNYW studios, as the station will be in storm mess duty. I would expect his debut will be on Tuesday, assuming he is already in town.1 point

For WBBH and WPTV (West Palm Beach), can probably assume that snowbirds are helping their numbers, which makes that less of a surprise- Especially how KARE and WTMJ are performing... Olympic Fever here in the upper Midwest! Wouldn't lose too much sleep over KSL and KUSA... Still over a 10 share, probably for first place in their markets, and scoring higher than literally regular programming NBC airs in primetime. To that point, Every NBC station in the country is probably enjoying their Olympic numbers right now.1 point

Wow. What great timing for MMM's KXLY as they just launched KXLY+ (their 24/7 streaming news and weather channel) on DT 4.5 to replace Dabl. Not only that, apparently, KXLY has run a weeknight hour-long 10pm newscast on their Me-TV subchannel, and it looks like they'll have that experience with them come March 1st.1 point

A post on Linked-In by WBBH/NBC Gulf Coast News, shows them near the top of the ratings nationwide this year, kind of a surprise IMO. What is surprising about this, is take a look at KUSA in Denver, & KSL in Salt Lake City, typically these affillates do very well with the winter games nationwide in terms of ratings, 15th (Tied with WLWT) & 12th respectively what is up with that??1 point

Nothing wrong with this. It's when they start putting actual ads on the boards for the Olympics... That will be excessive, and probably a violation of some contract.1 point

Rich Boehne was CEO then. I believe he was also the one who lamented the "business model" when Scripps decided to shut down the Rocky Mountain News.1 point
