I've always thought he would make it to 50 years and then retire, even if it's semi-retirement. Anyways, this is, in my question, without a shadow of a doubt, THE greatest NYC local news anchor who's ever lived. In a town full of legends and icons, IMO because of the run he's had, Chuck stands alone. December 12th will be a sad day in NYC and in this country in the world of broadcasting as a result of his departure. I'll make sure I'll be watching.

Good for her, man. Over the years, she's been a very recognizable face at WITI's Wake Up News alongside Rob Haswell and Gus Gnorski, among others and it has remained #1 a bit in part due to her presence so it'll be weird to see her doing nights now but its very deserving for her as she approaches 25 years at WITI next year.

Canada It's a new day, and it's the same old story: more layoffs, this time at Rogers Sports and Media. However, nothing is closing or shutting down. https://www.thestar.com/business/rogers-sports-media-lays-off-dozens-of-podcast-radio-employees/article_a5b1eca0-a6d3-11ef-8315-77ad00480a89.html

Yeah I hope not. WALA has been StormTracker since John Edd Thompson's days and it has fit them very well over the past couple of decades.

Also, you may have noticed that WTVY has switched over to First Alert Weather, which now creates a conflict with WDHN, which goes by the First Alert StormTeam.

Editorials still exist. KOCO still does them and their latest example is inducting five folks into their KOCO 5 Hall of Fame.

She's doing mornings and is back in her hometown. https://www.facebook.com/LissetteGonzalezTV/posts/pfbid0jP1srdoky4vdTiYQNLgTT2x77j8djremKim57oDnUqtcy4UejTdqe9v5tZqeXzH1l

I found it on Facebook... look what showed up: a Boycott NTV/Sinclair Facebook group as the station now goes anchorless in the evenings, following Scripps' lead and also following WKEF's move. -
From local evening news at WIS-TV 10 Columbia to the biggest morning job you can get at NBC... his rise has been nothing short of phenomenal. EDIT: Speaking of WIS... (RIP) Joe Pinner called it. You'll find it towards the end of this article. https://www.wistv.com/2024/11/14/how-watch-memorial-service-wis-icon-joe-pinner/

The other half of David and Peggy has decided to call it a career. David Johnson will soon join Peggy Finnegan in retirement land come Dec. 13th. The first of the last of the current big three old guards (KDKA's Ken Rice, WTAE's Mike Clark, and David from WPXI) to retire and call it a career. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wpxi.com/news/local/channel-11-news-anchor-david-johnson-announces-retirement/IGCUA2XFRREY7FV4GP7TEZ2SRA/%3foutputType=amp

If they do so, not yet. WVLT hasn't added it yet. And for WRCB, I thought they would consider it since Scripps News (3.5) is going away. However, I just checked TV listings, and WRCB will replace Scripps News with Grit at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, November 16th. So... that's probably out of the question now.

Gray has launched yet ANOTHER local sports network... Tennessee Valley Sports and Entertainment. Why is there no article on this? Because Gray has launched it very quietly so shhhh... According to TV listings from what I've seen thus far, its on WAFF 48.3 Huntsville (the originating flagship station) and on WSMV 4.2 Nashville. Both stations are carrying it in 720p 16:9 HD.

I hear that NTV's evening newscasts are going anchorless, following the Scrippscast style. -
