I saw Nichelle Medina anchoring this morning on KNSD. After looking at her IG, seems permanent.

KNSD now seems to be where San Diego's former news personalities are landing.

A couple of changes at WRC post-Olympics. The 4 am half hour is gone, but the online-only 7:30 pm show (News 4 Rundown) moves to broadcast. That bumps Access Hollywood to 3:30am.

Not WRC's first attempt at a 7:30 newscast. Hopefully more successful than their early 90s attempt on Channel 50.

And good that there's going to be a real local newscast in DC in the 7pm hour. The Hagerstown station cosplaying as a DC station doesn't count.

WUSA had one at 7 until last year, when they traded that for a revival of a 4pm newscast.

Like It Or Not doesn't count.

KBTX's Heather Kovar has been arrested for domestic violence charges against her boyfriend... If the name is familiar, it's the anchor who appeared drunk on a WRGB newscast..

Yeah...I think her career is toast

Fox 4 DFW just announced they are building a new station with construction to start soon but it will be a few years before they would move.

*UPDATE*: I have yet to see an official article, but KBTX has SCRUBBED Heather Kovar's bio off their Meet the Team page... So it's safe to assume that she is no longer an employee there as well...

KSAZ's Troy Hayden is leaving after 30 years

And as of yesterday, he's now on KPNX (NBC Phoenix). He'll be anchoring 12News from 4-5:30PM after the Olympics with Tram Mai (4PM) & Caribe Devine (5PM) as Mark Curtis cuts down his work, but will continue to anchor at 6 & 10. https://www.12news.com/article/news/local/arizona/troy-hayden-joins-12news/75-43c03ea9-34fb-4f59-bf49-fa359e8b9b40

I knew it would be fast. My question is did KBTX know about Kovar and her drunken incident and decide to give her a second chance knowing she may go through another incident again?

I'm just curious about KBTX's process for hiring her. I don't know if it will be the end of her (despite what I said on Discord in which I apologize) but let's see what happens.

Some of these stations I'm sure are desperate for help.  I believe in second chances, but she royally screwed this one up.

Months after TVNewsCheck briefly suspended daily site updates and feature articles, on Monday (August 6), Future plc announced it will cease publishing the print editions and daily newsletters of venerable broadcasting industry magazines Broadcasting & Cable and Multichannel News effective September 30, after 93 and 34 years, respectively.

Future’s Next TV will relaunch its website as a single portal combining reporting from all three brands in the fall (B&C and MCN already have subpages on the website), and will continue distributing its “SmartBrief” newsletter to cover streaming, broadcasting and pay-TV industry stories.

I'm afraid this means those local news market close-up pieces they've been doing are ending.

So no more broadcasting news in the form of a magazine? Wow.

And to think that B+C operated for over 93 years......... that's 93 years of broadcasting news down the drain.

It has been seven years since Tracey Anthony graced WeatherNation's airwaves.

After all that time doing other projects and industries (according to her LinkedIn), she's back.
