Well if this is true that's a shame. She was a great morning personality. I will say PIX 11 is a station with relatively high turnover. From experience that's usually indicative of either a low-paying or toxic work environment. 1 1
NYNewsCoverage 337 Posted February 21, 2025 Posted February 21, 2025 So the truth with Oji has finally come out. A real shame because I agree she added a lot to the mornings (for example she'd be great as the now vacant position for NY living co-host) and certainly deserved better and fair treatment. PIX/Nexstar seems to be no stranger to not taking its employees seriously, as was documented with Narmeen Choudhury a few years ago. And then there's the case with many being pushed out (Betty Nugyen, Alex Lee, etc). 1 2
NYNewsCoverage 337 Posted March 11, 2025 Posted March 11, 2025 (edited) As of tonight, it appears WPIX is now using a ticker on all of its newscasts including the nights, the first time since (i think) 2016. Edit: the ticker doesn't appear on air, but only on streaming. Edited March 13, 2025 by NYNewsCoverage 1
cg4 18 Posted May 28, 2025 Posted May 28, 2025 According to FTVLive, Byron Miranda was “escorted” from the station recently. Apparently he and Stacy-Ann Gooden didn’t get along, and he wasn’t easy to get along with. 1 1

NYNewsCoverage 337 Posted May 28, 2025 Posted May 28, 2025 Probably very different situation and don't want to assume anything, but reminds me of what happened at GMA (with Rob Marciano/Ginger Zee). I've noticed Mike Masco has been appearing on weekends (particularly weekend mornings). He seems like a solid hire, if he were permanent. For now I could see them shifting Chris Cimino back to mornings and giving Mr. G all the evening slots. Or they could give Stacy Ann the whole morning (Mike Woods does it on FOX5). 1 1

GraphicsMan 345 Posted June 28, 2025 Posted June 28, 2025 That too bad for Byron Miranda I thought he could be a really good successor to Mr. G if he retired. He definitely had the potential I do not like Stacy Ann like that I wouldn’t be surprised if she started some things that pissed him off. 1 1
MetroNews 28 Posted June 28, 2025 Posted June 28, 2025 Byron doesn’t seem to last very long at any place he works. Just sayin. 3

TheNewsTV 342 Posted July 24, 2025 Posted July 24, 2025 When did WPIX do away with the PIX11 Evening News in favor of extending its 6 p.m. edition? Not that it makes any difference, but I realized it today... 1

TheRolyPoly 3510 Posted July 25, 2025 Posted July 25, 2025 I don't think so, which is why it was puzzling to me. I've seen them do local news at 6:00 and then do the same broadcast again at 6:30. Again, it made no sense, and they have finally come to their senses to make the 6:00 p.m. format an hour long. 1

Instagram PIX currently has 5! sports anchors/reporters, so adding another definitely makes me think someone is leaving (maybe Nelson, who is current co-host?). I'm also surprised they haven't added Mike Masco full time yet to weather team (although he's been doing morning and night nearly every weekend since Star Harvey left).
NYNewsCoverage 337 Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 It appears Marc Malusis may be the one leaving, as he hasn't been doing sports on channel 11 in a while (in fact he has been doing SNY sportsnite this week during what would be his regular shift). Simone also mentioned doing a promo with Nelson. We'll have to see if he appears next week at all since his bio is still on their website.

Instagram Wow, if PIX11 was going to replace a sports anchor, I would have thought it would be with Andy Adler, who left her job in Texas last year and is apparently back living in New York.
civic110 20 Posted November 23, 2025 Posted November 23, 2025 Sports Nation Nightly is also moving to 11pm, which makes more sense since local games would most likely be completed by that point and further the show's topics.
NYNewsCoverage 337 Posted January 4 Posted January 4 It's the end of an era at WPIX, as Jim Culter is no longer doing the voiceover for news opens, for the first time since (i think) the early 2000s. 3 1
