Mrknowitall526 116 Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Reporter David Henry retired today. Wow, that was unexpected!?
SF1964 65 Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Wow, that was unexpected!? Eva Pilgrim had retweeted a message from a 6ABC producer wishing him happy retirement and showing him walking through the newsroom saying goodbye. David mentioned it on his own twitter page earlier in the week.
TVNewsLover 789 Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 WPVI has hired Gray Hall. I wonder if he was hired as a reporter or anchor: http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/wpvi-adds-anchor-from-virginia/159356
TVNewsLover 789 Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Eva Pilgrim is moving over to the network: http://www.adweek.com/tvnewser/abc-news-adds-eva-pilgrim-as-correspondent/279983 Looking at my previous post, I wonder if Gray Hall is her replacement on the weekend mornings alongside Nydia Han. WPVI has a history of hiring replacements before someone retires or moves on.
24994J 5636 Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 It seems like she was barely at WPVI long enough to cast a shadow.
SF1964 65 Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 It seems like she was barely at WPVI long enough to cast a shadow. She reported on the street a few days a week and anchored the weekend morning shows. I think she did plenty and was very good. 2
NYPhillynews 103 Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 More young 'PVI talent moving on to bigger platforms within the ABC News family...First Shirleen, then Kenneth, now Eva. WPVI is indeed a powerhouse station. WABC & WPVI are the best news stations in the country. 2

WPVI is indeed a powerhouse station. WABC & WPVI are the best news stations in the country. Agreed. While they are going to one great organization, they certainly left another. Although I will miss them at WPVI, they are very talented anchors and reporters and they do deserve huge promotions within the ABC company. Good luck and congrats to Eva on her move to the Alphabet.
TVNewsLover 789 Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Can I say that as much as I love Rick & Monica as a team, I really enjoy Rick & Sarah as a team equally as much. Which brings me to ask, why isn't she used as a fill-in for Monica and Sharrie when one of those women is off? Monica and Sharrie are typically each other's fill-ins, but it'd be nice to throw Sarah into that mix.

But Sarah is an excellent reporter, too, so maybe they'd rather have her put to use there. 1
TVNewsLover 789 Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 Today's anchor line-up: Noon-Rick solo 4pm-Brian solo 5pm-Rick solo 6pm-Rick solo 10pm-Brian solo 11pm-Brian solo Interesting they didn't have them anchor the 4 and 5 together.
FJ2000 5 Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Today's anchor line-up: Noon-Rick solo 4pm-Brian solo 5pm-Rick solo 6pm-Rick solo Interesting they didn't have them anchor the 4 and 5 together. I don't think I've ever seen anybody solo anchor the 5pm program. Ever.

But Sarah is an excellent reporter, too, so maybe they'd rather have her put to use there. As much as I agree about Sarah's professionalism on air and the high quality of her reporting, she has that "bitchy resting face" syndrome made infamous on BravoTV's Below Deck. She can just seem angry when she is listening to her co-anchor talk. An old-school "face-for-radio". Just a superficial opinion - I repeat my respect for her talent and she actually does shine when she doesn't appear to drift away. 1

SF1964 65 Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Eva Pilgrim did her first ABC News report during GMA this morning. It was actually from Philadelphia, where she was reporting on the police officer that was shot. Dan Harris, the GMA weekend host, welcomed her and mentioned she came from the Philadelphia "powerhouse" station. Video link, if anyone's interested. http://abcnews.go.com/US/man-accused-shooting-philly-cop-confessed-committing-act/story?id=36169588

I wonder if she is still living in the area? I never realized until this report what a good reporter she is. She wasn't my favorite as an anchor, but this report was really well done. Glad ABC snatched her up!

mardek1995 200 Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Her Twitter bio says she's in NYC now. In Philly's big bro on ABC 7?
jb542 13 Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Does anyone know why 6abc was using the 4pm desk this morning? They used the 4pm from 4:30-5am and then went to the main desk from 5-7am

rear_flank 45 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Looks like Channel 6 re-did their weather graphics a bit. There's a new banner for the titles and some of the forecasts are changed
PAnderson1 27 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I noticed that. Last time they changed that, new news graphics came after that in 2010. Maybe a sign of something to come? Look for something like the Oscars for a reveal (maybe). 1
Mrknowitall526 116 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 A refresh of the L3s is badly needed ... Everything else IMO still looks nice 1
