Scripps Sports is expanding yet again, this time with Denver Summit FC, the NWSL franchise for the Mile High City. KMGH and KCDO will carry their non-national broadcasts.

For some reason, KNXV in Phoenix likes to use their weekend anchors to present the weather.  For at least the past year, every weekend they have the morning anchor present the weather.  Lately it's been Jordan Bontke.  Prior to him was Amelia Fabiano.  And at one point, Nick Ciletti was doing it.  Is there a reason as to why they do this, as they have 4 mets? Usually its Jorge & Amber during the week and Ashelee & Justin on the weekends.

If you want some news WPTV was the first to get the graphics this year but it’s still a really slow roll out.

With Kelly in reruns during the Winter Olympics, WGBA is going to test a hour-long 4pm newscast throughout the next two weeks instead to take advantage of the lead-in of dayside coverage. I do hope it does well because if it does, Kelly can move back and replace their afternoon Family Feud block.

A glaring downside to the Scrippscasts/avoid live shots thing…. Since nothing is live the reporting packages are always pretty good because they had time to get them right. When there is breaking news or a big event and they have to be live… the young reporters they hire these days seem to struggle mightily because they don’t do it often. That’s what I’ve started noticing in Detroit anyways. Some times they sound great live but other times the same person is tripping over their words and that’s been multiple people having the same issues.

KMGH is a total dog in the market and virtually noncompetitive. KDVR and KUSA can pull in more viewers in the 25-54 demo than KMGH has total viewers.

Accurate for all Scripps stations present day. Even stations pre-WMAR have become distant last in their respective markets.

It’s been awhile since WTMJ was a market leader, but wow have they fallen behind.

I think WITI beats them at 9 if they’re still even doing that show on their True Crime sub. I feel like in a recent book TMJ actually finished 4th, behind WDJT, maybe it was in the demo or HH.
