Cause of death TBD.

Could not have happened at a worse time and a worse day, especially given the fact that its Election Night. I'm sure they won't have a tribute for him until tomorrow at the earliest. Correct me if I'm wrong.

They've been airing tributes all evening at the top of their newscasts.

Is there an update yet on the cause of death for Chauncy Glover?

It's none of our business.

It’s also pretty commonly released and of course folks are gonna want to know. We may never find out but trying to slam that door shut like this is overkill.

I've been noticing a lot of small errors on KCAL/KCBS the past couple of weeks. Throws to nowhere, incorrect graphics, wrong tape, etc. Unusual for a major station that had been pretty good before that.

The LA County Medical Examiner says Chauncy Glover died of "acute intoxication by the combined effects of chloroethane and methamphetamine. The manner of death is accident.” More from ABC 7

Sadly, it instantly reminded of Chris Burrous' death, and nearly in the same manner no less.  Just horrible all the way around, and I pray his family can find peace around this tragedy.

Yup, same. When news of his death was announced, I just knew this was going to be the reason. I hope the other KCAL dudes on Grindr are careful.

KCBS is now airing the CBS Evening News at 4pm with Evening News Plus at 4:30pm.  This is what's other schedule on zap2it TV listings.

What's the anchor lineup like in the 8/9/10 pm slot on KCAL? Did Juan Alvarez get Chauncy Glover's schedule?

Does anyone. Know what happened to Bianca Rae? She joined KCAL in January 2024 from Spectrum News 1 SoCal, but she seems to have disappeared. Was she let go or did she quit?

I blocked the first attempt at this question, but I'm guessing you'd keep posting it. She didn't post her exit, the station would never say it, so you'll never truly find out. I'm guessing it was a part-time role post-Spectrum. Nothing more.

Paul Deanno just announced KCAL finally gutted the old CBSLA studio and it’s now the 6th station in the O&O group to get the AR/VR set and will debut tomorrow.

This is not a one time thing anymore, CBS is going to replace all sets with AR/VR at their owned and operated stations, including newcomer WUPA.

Just a theory, I sure hope that physical sets still exist and stay around for a few more years. If CBS is successful in reducing operating losses to the point where it's making more of a profit for the shareholders, just imagine what other broadcast or entertainment companies will do with VR/AR.

It's a shame they gutted that studio. It was still serviceable and could still run circles around other sets in the market. I wish it could have remained somewhere else on the Radford Lot.

Idk about the last part of that, but agree, it’s shame they gutted the studio, and agree, it was still a good set.

Can someone remind me what the old studio looked like? I know he didn't say the current KCBS/KCAL set, which is also in use at KCNC and WBBM, correct?

The old version of the O&O set, like KOVR and WCBS have.

Ah, got ya, okay. Thank you @Weeters!

Yes, that set probably had some years left, but if they wanted to be in the AR/VR space, then something had to give.
