MidwestTV 1358 Posted June 1, 2025 Posted June 1, 2025 I've always wondered how it's decided which station gets stuff like this first and why others have to wait so much longer. 1 1

A few lame sounds to put you to sleep. This is at least a music pkg with some style. God.. why have the Scripps stations become so boring and vanilla. They are unwatchable. No energy. WXYZ is the worst offender. Is that on purpose? Why? Because they keep hiring SAM. 1

It's not the packages themselves, it's just their flagrant overuse by certain groups like Nexstar. I swear if I hear Guardian one more time... Mostly it was the whole SESAC thing which caused many stations to drop them with the rise of licensing fees. In subsequent years, with the consolidation and group-branding of stations, sameness prevailed and a good SAM theme could get maligned by a station or group that ran with something, or even used a theme to the point or boring-ness.... 3

Has the industry declined so far that I'm actually excited to see this package? So many of the group packages introduced over the past few years are well past their prime already, and groups like Gray haven't even finished yet.... Agreed. Most of the graphics put out by station groups have been bland. As for sets Nexstar been the most consistent with putting out decent designs. Edited July 18, 2025 by MediaZone4K 1

Dave Lampstein 287 Posted June 16, 2025 Posted June 16, 2025 Listened to the demo on their press release… This sounds like the result of asking ChatGPT to make you a music package. 3

WhoCares2 22 Posted June 17, 2025 Posted June 17, 2025 I don’t love it. I don’t hate it. It’s just there. Kind of like Scripps as a company. 5 4

I wonder if we are gonna have to deal with the lower third always being on the screen during stories? I kinda like the way the current package lets them shut off for most of the story. 1
MediaZone4K 2662 Posted July 18, 2025 Posted July 18, 2025 (edited) Cue excessive attention to detail...Looks like they're keeping the minimalistic white bugs when the L3 ribbon is absent. I don't mind it, it's not distracting. I do wish they'd color the station logos when the ribbons appear though. I wish some stations still did transparent screen bugs. 5OnYourSideMan 88 Posted July 18, 2025 Posted July 18, 2025 We have a combination of elements from the 2012 Scripps Graphics package with News 5 Investigators style lower thirds and the 2020 Scripps Graphics package. 1
MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie 1158 Posted July 28, 2025 Posted July 28, 2025 In a story that I can't link to, due to the website not allowed to be linked on here, Scripps says that the implementation of the new package will be "aggressive", based on technical considerations... Also they claim that audience feedback has been "beyond expectations"... So we shall see what "aggressive" brings us in the upcoming weeks/months... 3
Weeters 2173 Posted September 3, 2025 Posted September 3, 2025 Noticed in the video mentioned in the thread about the possible Allen Media group pack that the recent Defiant demo reel has what looks to be a prototype of a Scripps look that never made it to air. 2 1
