  3. I saw it on X/Twitter, I don't know if we can trust it. But it looks like this is going to be the new set for the CBS Evening News

  4. After years of being on the old Fox O&O set, KDFW is moving out of Downtown Dallas and to a new building in Irving. The project is expected to be complete in 2026.

  6. Looks like they have the same architects who are also working on KERA’s planned new facility. Interesting to have two local media clients at the same time. Both buildings look great.

  9. Saw that during the Biden farewell address as well. It looks eeeh. CBS has had some really strange special report L3s for the last few years. Too flat and rectangular. Good color though. OCD moment...CBS was smart in slotting the presidential farewell address for a full 30 minutes. Unlike the other networks they don't have misaligned time slots causing local newscasts to start late.

  10. I think it's 47. They probably changed the set's orientation in which the newsroom looks 'into' the set instead of the newsroom serving as the background. We'll find out soon enough.... Part of me feels like they want the new CBS EN to look/feel like a local CBS O&O newscast (using a similar desk, flooring, etc...). Including, based on the aforementioned picture, images of Chicago and SF (?). Even the new promo had a 'news from the heartland' feel to it. They need to differentiate themselves from Nightly and WNT in order to draw people in. Creating a national newscast that feels like a local one would be interesting.

  11. Finally! Their current set is way past outdated. It's the worst of the Fox O&Os

  12. Just from this photo alone, I'm getting Studio 1515 (the studio in Times Square) and KCAL/KCNC/WBBM set vibes. The new anchor desk looks exactly like the KCAL/KCNC/WBBM anchor desks (just without the wood border around the front screen), the walls of screens are similar to the walls of screens in Studio 1515, and the color of the wood floor and some structural elements are similar to the KCAL/KCNC/WBBM sets.

  13. I have to agree that CBS doing something different. Im exciting to find out what the tone will be. The broadcast sounds like the CBC NATIONAL. They used subtle graphics with frosted panels and simple elements and they also did the triple anchor presentation. THe programme lasts an hour.

  15. Impressive. Of course, a complete and definitive look and reveal comes during its debut. But honestly, I'm ready and excited for what's to come.

  16. Holy cow, is this is legitimate, this looks AMAZING! Great successor to the Washington set and easily still the best set out of the main newscasts! This might turn some heads, but it looks very European!

  17. You "guess it is still too scandalized?" My goodness, that's an understatement. Matt Lauer is persona non grata at NBC. He will never be allowed back on "Today" in person, even if it's a one-off appearance to wish a former co-worker well. NBC would sooner bring back J. Fred Muggs (kids, ask your grandparents) than Lauer. As for where Matt Lauer is now? Probably still laying low in the NYC area.

  18. The Rachel Maddow Show going back to 5 nights a week during the first 100 days of the Trump administration, with Alex Wagner on special assignment nationwide observing the impacts of the new administration for a series of reports and specials; Alex Wagner Tonight will return in May

  19. I agree that they should bring back personalities that are still in good standing with the network & wouldn't cause that much of a negative impact for the show. I think it may help with the ratings with their contributions in reporting on certain topics. It doesn't have to be just for today show, but other network news programs as well. Katie Couric, Meredith Vieira, Tom Brokaw, & Harry Smith are some examples. These & other former personalities could make appearances on a regular basis or during sweeps reporting on current news events of the day.

  22. The reasons why WNYW will never leave there buidling is because its historic in the networks keep there facilities of there flagship station in historic buildings just because of legacy they can just renovate instead of putting money into a expensive real estate project in New York. What WABC and ABC is doing is rare.
