  1. That is so disorganized.

  2. In advance of the expected tornado outbreak impacting portions of the Deep South (which some atmospheric analogues suggest could be under similar conditions to those that caused the 2011 Super Outbreak that struck the same region), TWC has announced schedule changes for Saturday (March 15). According to TitanTV and OnTVTonight, AMHQ will be extended by one hour until 10:00 a.m. ET, accordingly shifting Weekend Recharge one hour later (pushing it to 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., preempting Pattrn). Long-form programming reruns will be preempted for extended storm coverage through at least 10:00 p.m. ET. (Barring that the event busts, Frozen Gold reruns still scheduled from 10:00 p.m.-1:00 a.m. ET will likely be preempted as well.)

  4. Well, as of February 1st, WBNX is now a Nexstar station. Master control has since been moved and is likely being run out a Nexstar hub somewhere. Since it hasn't been added to YouTubeTV (yet), I'm told that they have started airing WJW promos on WBNX, and that Rewind TV will be added later this month to one of WBNX's subchannels. CW programming returns on September 1st, and we can probably expect a new logo from Nexstar. It may be a cut and paste of the old "CW 55" logo Media General introduced for WFNA in Mobile/Pensacola before reverting to "Gulf Coast CW" But this thread shall come to a close with the end of Winston Broadcasting. Even the WBNX signage has been removed from their Cuyahoga Falls studios and it may be safe to assume control and any continuing staff may (or has already shifted) to Dick Goddard Way in Cleveland. And as Ernest used to say at the end of his "Ninety and Nine Club".... YOU ARE SPECIAL.....YOU REALLY, REALLY ARE!

  5. Keep in mind that they do have a job listing for a meteorologist posted. So whatever the current situation is, it will change. Nevertheless, they definitely could have divided responsibilities up better.

  6. Are they matching over their affinity for candlelit dinners and nighttime strolls on the beach on a dating profile or finding out if it’s going to rain tomorrow? Honestly, give the viewers credit for understanding things like non-traditional workweeks and schedules. It’s a small number of familiar faces and they’ll be just fine hearing from person A some days and person B on others, much the same as during vacations, illnesses and such. This…is a plan. I can say through multiple jobs in multiple industries a plan often means allocating resources to do what needs to be done to cover the work, and adjusting on the fly as circumstances dictate. There are multiple variables and the unexpected bumps that require adjusting even a temporary plan. Budgets and processes are what they are, and seldom is it a cakewalk to have exactly what you want when you want it. We live in the real world where things are messy.

  7. The subchannel schedule on TV could be different than that online. In the future, the network will probably have more sporting events that it will air on the main ktla. If there's a news event that needs to be covered during those events, the subchannel would be a great way to do that. At other times, the subchannel could air the locally produced programs like California Cooking, Frank Buckley interviews, LA Unscripted, & etc. They can produce more local programs or import local programs from other nextstar stations. The station doesn't have to be all news like the online version.

  8. Do they need a sub channel when the main channel airs 20 hours of news?

  9. She getting paid $25Million and you think she will settled in on Sunday night spot? She has a contract that lets her do what she wants at $25Million. If you had that big contract would you want to do a Sunday Night Show instead of Mondays only after The President first 100 days?

  10. At the end of the 5pm today after the last weather hit Lonnie announced why he hasn’t been doing the 6 and 11. He suffered a head injury a few months back, was told to work shorter days and to not drive at night, he is now taking time off. Here is the link of him announcing on Evening News. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1TL3az2H6E/?mibextid=wwXIfr

  11. @TVNewsLoverI get your point about inconsistency but...To piggyback off of @Breaking News, it wouldn't make sense for the network to pay someone that much to anchor on a lower rated slot.

  12. It seems the opening is for a weekday meteorologist, so the hypothetical new meteorologist will be for the 6pm-11pm weekday slot. And I agree it is sad about John Elliott, but I think Elise (may she RIP) and now Tony are on weekday mornings for diversity purposes which I do understand; although I would argue both personalities were (are) better suited for evenings. They also do have Craig Allen as freelance, and from time to time, Rob Marciano seems to fill in; although I haven't seen either in recent weeks.

  13. I agree. One of the biggest hallmarks of daytime television and news is the predictability of seeing your favorite personality. This matters more so for anchors than weather casters, but WCBS's lineup is still very confusing. The decisions from CBS 2 regarding John Elliott are so puzzling. He clearly has the the lively eccentric weatherman personality that morning shows go for. Why was he removed from weekday mornings, and why do they seem to be so hesitant to give him a regular weekday slot? He's arguably one of the strongest personalities on a very stiff and straight news station. Not specific to CBS News NY, but these days anchor lineups are getting a lot more unpredictable. I'm tempted to say the average viewer doesn't care, but I think the regular news viewer does. Wouldn't it just be simpler to have: John Weekday Mornings & Noon Lonnie Weekdays 5pm Tony Weekdays 6-11pm newscasts Vanessa: weekend mornings Whoever: weekend evenings

  14. AM Radio seems to be headed for extinction. Lots of stations are turning in their licenses and broadcasting otherwise.

  15. This is my opinion of what their anchor lineup should look like Today in LA be the same Midday Report & 3PM Annabelle Sedano 4 & 6pm Carolyn Johnson & Robert Kovacik 5 & 11pm Colleen Williams & Michael Brownlee 7pm Robert Kovacik Weekend mornings & evenings remain the same The station should add a new newscast on the weekends. A new sports show with Mario Solis & Olivia Garvey should be created and air after sports programming on weekends usually at 3pm local & should last about an hour. The station should also create a new subchannel called knbc + airing a combination of news & locally produced programs.

  17. How is a viewer supposed to make a connection with the weather person with this schedule? They can't. Plus, is John Elliot working every day of the week? He'll burn out. It doesn't seem that WCBS really had a plan in place once the CBSEN announcements were made. Is management that disorganized?

  20. while their L3s sucked at this time, I much prefer this talent open over the solid white opening that followed. I love that WABC still uses beauty shots and talent opens and not just bumper talent montages. I wish more stations still did.

  21. KTLA + exist online. Would the station consider creating a subchannel for ktla +? If so, a couple of months ago, when TBD channel left 5.4 to go to 11.3, that would have been good time to create ktla + as a subchannel.

  22. Sade would now be the senior anchor for the 11 pm newscast. She’s been on the 11 pm show since 2011.

  23. I don’t think they’ll be a talent opening so I’m not worried when Bill Ritter leaves in 3 years. Then we can talk about it. Sade isn’t the most senior anchor I like Mike too some degree, wild thought what if his wife joined the station and became a husband and wife team like they did in Kansas City. That would be nice!

  30. I'd be curious to see if there are ANY physical assets other than the transmitter itself that may be transferred from Winston to Nexstar. The way I see it, when the sale closes, the old WBNX in Cuyahoga Falls closes down and the new WBNX launches from 5800 Dick Goddard Way in Cleveland and the WJW staffers are given another station to run. So all of the physical assets and archives of WBNX remain in the hands of Winston and are used solely for ministry purposes (basically what's left of Ernest Angley's Grace Cathedral). Even with the studio rule abolished, they don't even need a presence in Akron (or Cuyahoga Falls) anymore. Although, they may have a sales person or two out of WJW's bureau at the University of Akron (do they still even have that?) Maybe one day, the Angley complex in Cuyahoga Falls will get sold and they can do something useful with the land. It would be a great compliment to Portage Crossing, the successor to the derelict State Road Plaza that closed a decade ago. Even the majority of the WBNX/Angley complex was once a Shoppers' Fair discount store before Rex Humbard tried to build his empire there, complete with his concrete "erection" that still stands tall to this day....

  31. Its about time that we had a feed for Nexstar! so let me guess...there is going to be a forced divesture in Fort Wayne if they do acquire more stations?

  32. It was mentioned in the FCC filings that the agreements concerning WRSP, WCCU and WBUI are also going to be transferred to Rincon as well. That personally doesn't surprise me.

  33. Holy shit really?! You think the CBS package is good?! It's a terrible knock-off of the 2015 WTTV package that Tribune Creative West created which is far beyond the LinearDrift knockoff.

  35. Nexstar and Granite are too good a fit for each other. If the two companies were to combine, Nexstar would control every station of consequence in Peoria, Illinois. Nexstar owns WMBD (CBS) and controls WYZZ (Fox, Sinclair). Granite owns WEEK (NBC) and operates WAOE (MyTV, Four Seasons Broadcasting/Venture Technologies) and WHOI (ABC, Barrington --> Sinclair). It's unclear how some of the pending sale relationships are going to work out in Peoria, especially with Sinclair's pending buyout of Barrington that will give it a duopoly where it doesn't control either station. To operate its duopoly of WHOI/WYZZ, Sinclair would need to start a separate news department and find studio space, as WHOI's news department is a sidecar to WEEK and both stations are co-located with their parents. Something similar, as mentioned, would happen in Fort Wayne, where Nexstar would control WPTA, WISE and WFFT, but in this case an independent outlet does stand (LIN's WANE-TV). Third on the priority list is Syracuse. Nexstar and Sinclair would become the only station owners for all major stations (pending Barrington deal).

  36. Why divest when they can simply shift some of the licenses over to Mission, though I would imagine the already messy ownership situations in Syracuse and Fort Wayne would only get messier if Nexstar were to acquire Granite as a whole.
