Agreed. I loved Ryan's joking "what time is it? Am I on the right show?"  Though too bad they replaced the sports as usual, missed whatever he was going to say as it got cut off.

Rolled out the new talent intro with Pedro. I always wondered why they never did one with Mike (or really the whole morning crew) even many months before his switch.

Not the first time that it’s happened. Mike Marza was solo the first 1/2 hour a few times too. Not sure where she lives but seems like Shirleen was delayed because of last nights weather

Was looking through the team page again, no changes since Yu's sudden removal (and she still has ABC7NY on her Instagram?), however I realized that they've never added Lindsay Tuchman for some unknown reason.

Perry Russom filling in for Pedro in the morning both on Friday with Shirleen and this morning with Michelle.

Both gave him a warm welcome.

They’re a little inconsistent with the 5pm open. Sometimes it’s played sometimes not. Last night it was.

correct. It’s just a timing issue. If they need to gain back a few seconds or have a packed show, the talent open gets cut.

not a vacation thing. Aired again tonight even with both Sade and Mike off.

As of last night, (not sure for the rest of the week) but the regular team was on for the 11pm show. Mike and Sade were back on the air last night, along with Lee Goldberg and Ryan Field.

Wild how now we can seemingly just go to the site and just find the newscast of our liking and watch. Sign of the times!

This isn’t a slam on participants but I don’t understand why certain threads — notably this one and WPVI — seem to be flooded with posts regarding whom is subbing for whom. Maybe because it’s summer the thread is short on content.

I can’t speak for the WPVI thread but for New York, it’s been interesting to point only when notable fill in or pairings are made. For instance they began rotating several network level talent, Liz Cho anchoring weekend mornings or at 11, etc.

Well, it's the summer and not much is happening in the stations these days, so this our defacto banter to keep the board and presence alive . 

 

Its also a way to speculate future talent changes and lineups, which a lot of us seem to be interested in over the years since the inception of these forums. We used to even have dedicated threads about specific talents which we've long stopped doing.

Are they going to add another Meteorologist as Sam is on GMA all the time lately? I don't really like having the morning meteorologist staying on air until 1pm after being on air since 4:30am. Schedules like this contributed to the deaths of Lisa Colagrossi, Katherine Creag and Elise Finch.

I don’t have an answer but Sam hasn’t been on the 6am news in several months and they stop playing the talent opens after 6am. I think he still appears on the 10am regularly.

It's great, however I wish it was possible to select a date to view the day's newscasts, as it takes quite a long time to constantly hit the "show more" button and scroll down to find newscasts from earlier in the month or those that are even older.

While I agree with the scheduling part and I agree that redeye shifts running well after lunch is not healthy, has it actually been proven that working those hours contributed to the deaths of any of those reporters? I recall Lisa Colagrossi's husband speculated that in her case.

 

In the case of 4 & 4:30 am newscasts I don't mind what Scripps is doing with recorded anchorless shows. Very little new news is actually happening, viewership isn't that high, and its easier on the the talent/photogs.

Im one of the 4:30am viewers so I like seeing everyone there and Brittany is great. Not for nothing but what is Sams shift exactly. GMA goes on at 7 and he often is on SM going into work at like 6, he can't do the noon newscast? If not then Im surprised they don't have Dani and Jeff split the noon.

I do think NYC is one of those few markets with a sizable 4am audience and a lot of breaking news.

Sam (seemingly) doesn’t do weather forecasting for at WABC anymore. He only appears for Mornings@10 and has also seemingly been added as a permanent fixture on GMA again.

One thing I noticed is that they seemed to have eliminate the commercial break at 4:58 in the mornings. There used to be a break at that time, they now go until 5:00 and read something along the lines of “Eyewitness News This Morning continues now” and go to the team open (or the Breaking News open today and yesterday)
