What's happening to WJZ?

They've been #2 for years. The numbers aren't released but it's safe to assume they're in second.

It's also likely safe to assume the improved NBC slate has helped greatly. I seem to recall that when Leno aired at 10PM - WBAL lagged in the ratings.

Edit: According to this LA Times article it stated that WBAL was in a distant second to WJZ.

Edit 2: The Baltimore Sun reported that WBAL lost half of its 11PM audience during the whole Leno/Conan debacle. So I think it's safe to say that the NBC programming helps a lot but their content is different.

CLT, I noticed you didn't list WJZY's ratings at 6pm? Do you have those? Curious because it looked like they were starting to pick up steam in that slot in Nov. sweeps and wondering if it continued.

(Fingers crossed that WAGA will have unseated WSB thanks of course to the Super Bowl (aka "The Choke Seen 'Round The World"), while WXIA may have seen an uptick thanks to both Shiba Russell now joining Jeff Hullinger at the anchor desk and the red-hot "This Is Us")

In the meantime...here was WSB's January winter storm ratings report. Yay (you know who I was watching).

Hopefully no one is waiting for Washburn's newspaper article to know how the book ended...

Boston sweeps results are out. WHDH, a big loser in the survey, is crying foul over what it sees as anomalies in the sample. Nielsen is investigating.

http://www.newenglandone.com/news/local/boston/february-sweeps-results-called-into-question-in-boston.html

Why WBZ finished #1 at 11PM? Are they benefited after the January switch, or because of the CBS primetime lineup?

Why WBZ finished #1 at 11PM? Are they benefited after the January switch, or because of the CBS primetime lineup?

WBZ has shown positive trends in the last two books with the dilution in ratings caused by the entrance of a fifth player as well as the relative stability of Channel 4's anchor lineup. WBZ claims to be Boston's most-watched station, a boast that encompasses its entire schedule.
