Oh cool, I’ll have to check it out. I always wondered why markets 1 and 3 have talent opens but not LA.

Separately, I caught the end of the 5:00pm show today and the two shot of the anchors was actually split and Marc Brown was in a different studio. I know COVID numbers are spiking in SoCal - are we back to this for a bit? Have all shows been doing this?

If we're just talking ABC, WLS dropped the remaining talent rejoins (just weekend evenings, by that point) early in the pandemic. There's evidence that they entertained bringing them back with the new graphics, but apparently opted out.

Given that the 11pm weekday newscasts on KABC are fast paced and minimalistic with music and graphics (especially when teasing stories before commercial breaks), it will be interesting to see whether or not the talent opens make it to these newscasts.

OK.  I thought Marc Brown was going to consider retiring or stepping back with his duties.  Now, that I ghink of it, he's still got some active years left before retiring.  He's almost 10 years younger than Dallas Raines.

Dallas Raines is actually much older than Marc Brown. Dallas is 70 and Marc is 62.

ABC7's Leanne Suter opens up about skin cancer diagnosis, surgery

Man, what a tough year it has been for L.A. broadcasting since a number of local reporters have encountered health problems, with a few of them passing away. The most recent one being KCAL's Chauncy Glover.

ABC7 morning anchor Leslie Sykes celebrated 30 years with the station today and it just shows that Disney really cares about their employees.

This is why it scares me to hear CEO Bob Iger talk about Disney getting out of linear television. It seems to be the least worst of the station owners. They deliver a quality newscast with personable talent, and are often number one in a lot of their markets. I would hate to see new ownership quash that.

I was watching the news on ch 7 earlier.  Ellen Leyva is leaving the station in a few months. Have not seen any articles about it yet,  since it was just announced earlier.

Just found it.
