Georgie56 3292
WBBH has become the first to roll out the new Hearst graphics package. DENDude 216
The Graphics are okay, better than Tegna but nothing that stands out.. 3 1 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/21517-new-hearst-graphics-24/#findComment-299697 Share on other sites
Thor10 14
It's definitely a subtle update. To Hearst's credit, at least it's not a dramatic change for viewers and maintains consistency. 3 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/21517-new-hearst-graphics-24/#findComment-299698 Share on other sites
mouseboy33 91
Ugh these corporate group graphics are becoming more and bland and boring. Geez. With the automated rundowns and lockdown cameras and bland samey theme music. Todays newscasts are BORING. 3 2 1 1 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/21517-new-hearst-graphics-24/#findComment-299699 Share on other sites

Speaking of boring, from watching multiple Hearst stations across Florida including WPBF and WESH, the newscasts are plain. I don't know if anyone watching other Hearst markets feel similar? In all fairness, Hearst appears to be a well-funded, clean looking product but a lot of their newscasts are devoid of any flavor. Instead of WESH I find myself tuning into WOFL Fox 35 because they have more creative and active newscasts. The Fox O&Os are particularly good at trying to break the mold of traditional newscasts. MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie 905
It's better than their previous graphics... But I miss the Hearst diagrid.. You can see bits of it here and there, but it's still pretty good... 1 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/21517-new-hearst-graphics-24/#findComment-299712 Share on other sites

PelicanMan 19
The ticker looks great. I also like the extended forecast graphic, which is less cluttered than its previous version. That is perfect for WDSU. 2 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/21517-new-hearst-graphics-24/#findComment-299758 Share on other sites

ekt8750 50
Early returns say that I hate it but I'll wait and see what it looks like on some of their bigger stations. It really doesn't work when you try to shoehorn in the border that it wasn't designed for. Also it supposed to be misaligned with the 2 like that? 1 1 1 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/21517-new-hearst-graphics-24/#findComment-299762 Share on other sites

MediaZone4K 2157
I think the aim is to have the NBC logo hanging off the edge, so they don't see it as a misalignment. Something like this... But yes, it would be more visually appealing to have the peacock align with the bottom part of the 2 like such... This simplistic "flat design" look that literally every newscast has nowadays has run its course. It all looks the same. 1 1 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/21517-new-hearst-graphics-24/#findComment-299777 Share on other sites
C Block 1566
Meh. The outgoing look was pretty good and probably could last a while longer. I don't see how this is much of an improvement. 2 1 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/21517-new-hearst-graphics-24/#findComment-299778 Share on other sites
nathannah 2400
I actually think it's a good evolution of the Hearst design, which has aged pretty well compared to the other group packs. I like to think they didn't change them wholesale because they see their stations visually as newspapers in design where stability is a good thing and any change should be subtle and slow. Yes, it looks like more of the same, but Hearst is already on top in many of their markets. Not much they do need to do to keep that advantage, and the graphics match their 'not broken' thinking. 4 1 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/21517-new-hearst-graphics-24/#findComment-299781 Share on other sites

I agree. It’s a nice evolution of the diagrid graphics (even if the diagrid isn’t fully visible in the new ones), and they do fall in line with the teaser graphics that have been rolled out over the past few months. 3 1 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/21517-new-hearst-graphics-24/#findComment-299791 Share on other sites
MediaZone4K 2157
Not the greatest look in the world but I would say this was Hearst's best L3. 1 1 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/21517-new-hearst-graphics-24/#findComment-299819 Share on other sites
kfc513 235
Looks like Hearst partnered with Vivid Zero on the new diagrid look. Their 2025 studio reel contains brief clip of what appears to be WCVB's version of the open at the 0:32 second mark. https://www.facebook.com/100057501037117/videos/1278638849916517/ 3 3 Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/21517-new-hearst-graphics-24/#findComment-303648 Share on other sites
