JRyan 694 Posted October 2, 2025 Posted October 2, 2025 The 2012 set just looked more...grounded and authoritative - yet inviting and authentic. The new set does look okay on the air. But I don't see this new set lasting more than a couple of years (and that might be generous) without more changes. 4

I agree that they should've probably stuck to the set below, and I wish they kept the 2012 graphics. Actually now that you mention it, the 12 graphics aged well, just maybe some light color adjustments and they're better then the current package. 2
TheNewsTV 342 Posted October 4, 2025 Posted October 4, 2025 Changing some of the background graphics makes a difference. The Saturday edition of CBS Mornings looks much cleaner and without the excessive "yellow/gold" like on weekdays. 3

The 2012 graphics would have been even better with rectangular corners on the right instead of trapezoidal. CBS Mornings/CBS This Morning has been clueless about lower thirds since removing that package. Everything has been flat and cartoonish ever since. 1

With the weekday backgrounds, it makes me a little claustrophobic, too much going on. 4

All three were great! CBS Saturday Mornings was the best of the morning shows on weekend broadcast. 3

I knew this would come eventually but not now. Speculation but, getting up before the crack of dawn is brutal especially at 70. Maybe I'm over estimating her value, but people know that show in large part because of Gayle. I'm concerned about it's longevity with King not in it. Edited October 31, 2025 by MediaZone4K

Patta's reporting shed a big light on the crimes committed by Bibi's government against Gazans. 2
mre29 1967 Posted October 31, 2025 Posted October 31, 2025 (edited) The article's been updated: Quote The closing of the Race & Culture Unit is the latest pullback at major media companies on initiatives started in the racial reckoning following Floyd’s murder. In the NBC News layoffs earlier this month, there were also significant layoffs to teams devoted to diversity verticals, such as NBC Out and NBC Blk, although those online sites will continue. Weiss has been critical of diversity, equity and inclusion programs, writing that it was “undermining America.” The Trump administration also has been attacking DEI, and its FCC chairman, Brendan Carr, has launched investigations into media companies that have adopted such policies, even though his detractors have accused him of exceeding the commission’s authority. As part of Skydance’s commitments to the FCC when it sought approval for its acquisition of Paramount Global, its general counsel, Stephanie Kyoko McKinnon, wrote that Paramount had removing DEI messaging, and would “ensure that all future messaging and recruitment initiatives do not disfavor any protected groups.” Edited October 31, 2025 by mre29 Formatting fix. 1

Reweivvt88 173 Posted November 3, 2025 Posted November 3, 2025 I really don't see what value Gayle King actually brings to CBS News. Everything she has hosted, from her morning show on OWN to CBS This Morning to CBS Mornings to that awful primetime CNN show, has pulled in terrible ratings. Yes there was the R Kelly interview that went viral, it went viral because of R Kelly, not because of her. I remember watching a clip of her talking about the changes to on-air talent at CBS This Morning a few years ago and she said something along the lines of this is a business and if people are not watching the bosses need to make changes, I just found this such a delusional thing for her to say, the show is the last place morning show and she is the lead anchor, but her ego is so big she thinks everyone else is the problem. clearly replacing the other talent didn't improve ratings. so maybe she is part of the problem? Going to space with billionaires and posting friendly selfies with vile FOX opinion hosts probably doesn't help either. Even now, CBS News is turning into a right wing propaganda outlet, she knows her job is over due to her ridiculous high salary, but instead of calling out the destruction of CBS News, she is saying she is happy to be there.

WFOR announced that it will broadcast a news program at 9 AM (which they already air on streaming) and a news program at 7 PM. (Return to broadcasting, since both ended precisely for the Plus broadcast) I think in the morning, WWJ and WBBM will follow the same example, since they broadcast news for streaming at that time (and in the case of WWJ, for WKBD).

MorningNews 1711 Posted December 10, 2025 Posted December 10, 2025 Apparently Nate Burelson is expected to be out as CBS Mornings undergoes a major overhaul with Gayle and Tony rumored to be taking new assignments. 2

Action Newsroom 1376 Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Adriana Diaz and Kelly O'Grady will anchor the revamped CBS Saturday Morning starting on the 10th. Both also alternate co-hosting duties on 24/7's Mornings with Vladimir Duthiers. https://deadline.com/2026/01/cbs-saturday-morning-hosts-adriana-diaz-kelly-o-grady-1236677342/
MediaZone4K 2664 Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Were they cheaper than Dana and Michelle, otherwise why lay off the original hosts?
