Dave Lampstein 287 Posted December 30, 2025 Posted December 30, 2025 Another new look coming on Monday… 1 3
Action Newsroom 1376 Posted December 30, 2025 Posted December 30, 2025 The last logo was very good. This would look decent if the network's name matched in font. 4
MediaZone4K 2661 Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 (edited) since we're bringing back the typeface, can we bring back the Dan Rather theme too. The 1991 theme has been recycled a lot, it would be nice if they could use one of the best themes. Edited January 1 by MediaZone4K 1

Especially the "Evening News" in CBS' original and iconic font. It communicates, tradition, resilience, heretage and experience. Basically, this might communicate the program to prospective viewers in a way that might make a splash. 1 3
MediaZone4K 2661 Posted January 1 Posted January 1 (edited) First it looks like that power point looking blue beveled Face the Nation style box will be part of the L3 for the revamped show. Similar to the L3 logo box when Nora was there. Second, Tony makes an impassioned plea for viewers to trust him because he understands their concerns about bias and the media being out of touch with average Americans. While what Tony says sounds nice, knowing who now runs CBS News, it has an under tone. "We want to be more appealing to conservatives and cautious that holding the president accountable doesn't feel like liberal bias." The corporate interests line was ironic. GodfreyGR 812 Posted January 1 Posted January 1 All I know is that CBS missed an opportunity to plug the new Evening News for free on ABC last night... Lots of shots of the old Times Square studio- still with the CBS News branding on it. Digital billboard on the building was rotating Mornings, Sunday Morning, RuPaul, and the Old CBSEN. Credit to ABC for doing the best they could to keep the Viacom Building out of the shot. 1

Me, I look forward to CBSEN being completely and utterly buried in the ratings by ABC, NBC, CNN, MS NOW, Fox News, NewsNation, Newsmax, OAN, PBS NewsHour, BBC World News America, local stations, and every flavor of Spectrum News 1. 4

EXACTLY! Death nell to CBS News, I guess.
EVVTV12 204 Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Along with a new anchor and format (that will last just as long as new Coke), CBS also updated their values from a 38 page hand book to a simple five. Meanwhile, PBS has had the same values/guidelines since Robert MacNeil was doing the show for half an hour. 3 2
Glimmer 340 Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Very funny how ABC manages to do the “ain’t America great!” beat without seeming alienating like this; CBS I don’t see succeeding in the same way 3

"I am not in the entertainment business." 4

I will remind people that being able to rely on tax dollar instead of corporate dollars are a lot more consistent and means that you don't have to be focused on entertainment. 1
GodfreyGR 812 Posted January 3 Posted January 3 CBS missed an opportunity to put some of Tony’s new values to work this morning… last to cut in with President Trump’s address, lots of references to “speaking on another network”, and “according to another network”. When your reporting keeps referring to the reporting to “another network” that tells me you don’t have the journalistic grit to get the scoop or find the facts yourself. I end up turning to “Another network”. Jericka was doing a solid job anchoring and working with what little she seemed to have, but you also had enough time to haul Tony in and let him put some action to his words (NBC has Llamas anchoring the special report on their side).
nathannah 2792 Posted January 3 Posted January 3 (edited) They have confirmed that he'll be on EN tonight, and Deadline confirms that he'll be at KPIX and the 10-in-10 city tour is 'delayed'. ETA source/location Edited January 3 by nathannah

No grace to be beaten by the Spanish networks.
FiveNews 481 Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Embarassing they are doing a soft launch from their O&O station. Strings could have been pulled to get Tony on a PJ or the fastest flight back to NYC to report on the biggest news of the weekend. CNN had a few of their top talent on....Erin Burnett and Sara Sidner. On the brief coverage I watched from MSNOW, Rachel Maddow even made an appearance from what I would assume is an NYC flashcam.
Geoffrey 958 Posted January 3 Posted January 3 The logo, according to the Facebook profile picture this morning:
Geoffrey 958 Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Dokoupil, anchoring the CBS Evening News two nights before his scheduled launch, is doing a long live interview with former Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Pete Hegseth. It feels like two frat bros hanging out, complete with Dokoupil gleefully repeating Hegseth's "Mauro effed around and found out" line. The interview was so long that it had two commercial breaks during it. 1 1 1 2
